Hi everybody.
Happy Friday and I hope you've had a great week and are ready to enjoy your weekend. Here's a summary of our work last week:
In our last report, I mentioned that we were making changes to our work schedule and after a week of following the new plan, I can confidently say it's more productive than our previous approach, which we had been following for over a year. We still have to make some adjustments and get used to it, but we're managing to put in between 6 to 8 hours of work each day -- depending on the circumstances; tonight, for example, it took me an hour to put my kid to bed which ate into my dev time -- which when done seven days a week and while we're overall less tired and get better sleep, has led to a more effective workflow.
So, overall, it was a good week. I've been busy going through the code and fixing various issues in the early part of the update. For example, I had noticed that something was off with Gomira's first sex scene. The issue was that her chest looked a bit off and different from what I'm used to seeing, and after going through the original files, it turned out that when Chestnut had drawn the art, she hadn't yet completed the orc's nude sprite. To fix this, I made a patch using the finished sprite art, moved it to the animation software, created the mesh, and animated it to match the rest of her body (Spoiler: it's the BJ half of a 69). I'll export and code this change tomorrow.
Chestnut has been going through my placeholder Photoshop files. She had a mini-panic moment two days ago when she opened a new file and saw the number of images I was asking her to create (and the complexity of them). She did agree that they were necessary, though, and has already made progress in this particular file -- I saw some of the images she's been working on today, and they're looking very good.
Unfortunately, I cannot estimate when we will be done with 0.7 but I can say that we're advancing better than we had in the past couple of months, and that gives me hope. We have all of you to thank for your support as we shape the content into a form suitable for release, and I only hope you enjoy the results of our work once we finally cross the finish line and think that even though we took so long, at least the update is good.
