Weekly report 224

Hi everybody.

Happy Friday and I hope you're all feeling well. Here's a summary of our work since last week:

Chestnut:

She completed her work on the massive Photoshop file I had sent her earlier (containing extra art for the fixed/improved content) and then shifted her focus to the sex scenes. During the polish phase, one of Chestnut's main tasks is to fix the frames of the looping images in our animations, to ensure the mesh distortion I use when animating the art hasn't caused any visual issues. While doing this, she also adds bodily fluids and other details. Now she had already begun this work earlier, but since I’ve been fixing sex scenes over the past few weeks, she decided to focus on getting all of them finished.

Pistachio:

I concluded Gomira's first quest, going through the last sex scene, which, except for a bit of tweaking of its presex event, and a change to the code to hide a skin overlay during the animation was overall fine.  

After I was done with the first quest, I started going through the beginning of Gomira's second quest (I have already done a lot of edits on the final event of this quest, but I hadn't made any changes to the beginning of it). There are two events I need to change: I'm going to remove the need to sleep and pass the night in one instance to make things more snappy. The other issue involves Waldo. He has a couple of short dialogues at the beginning of Gomira's second quest but at least one of them and the event connected to it feels repetitious because it closely echoes something else that happens in the update. I'm going to have to either change or remove it (I'll have to try it out and see what feels better). I was going to start working on these yesterday when I got a bad toothache. That's in the process of being taken care of, and I've managed to get some work done today.

Next week's plan:

Chestnut wants to have all of the liquids and frame fixes done for our sex scenes by the end of the week.

I want to start with the changes I mentioned above. I've already fixed the ending of Gomira's second quest, so after editing and debugging the beginning of it (and adding all the art Chestnut has been making, something that will take a day or two at least), we should be able to go through everything again and see how things feel after the first round of polish.

By my estimate, and given how much it has taken so far, I would say no, it shouldn't take us too long, but I wouldn't dare put a date on it, given the nature of developing a game and how I find bugs and fix them as I go along testing and retesting things.

Please, pistachio, when you can or have time and money, because I also know that it is very expensive. You should fix your mouth, forgive me if I butt in where I am not interested, but as a friend I know that the mouth hurts a lot and so does your health. The chestnut and the children's is the most important thing. A big hug to all of you on Patreon and to you in particular. Take good care of yourselves. It's not long before we see your work of art, the finished 0.7.
