Weekly report 227

Hi everybody.

It's Friday and I hope you're all feeling well and are planning a relaxing weekend. Here's a summary of what Chestnut and I have been up to since our last report:

Chestnut:

Until Wednesday, Chestnut worked the whole day, aiming to finish many of the new artworks and create variations for them. She's now done with the bulk of her work and has been focusing on retouching what's left over the past few days as we've returned to our normal schedule.

Pistachio:

My original plan was to continue working on the beginning of Gomira's second quest, going through it and adjusting events that didn’t quite work. Now that I have a lot of new art, however, I decided to focus on adding them to the game and replacing my placeholders. That always necessitates tweaking the dialogue and the posing a little, so I have been doing that too.

Next week's plan:

Chestnut plans to review her work and fix anything she may have missed earlier. If she finishes before I'm done (the likelier scenario), she might start planning her art for the next release until I complete the first round of polish with all the new art, after which we’ll go through everything together and plan the next phase of polish.

My focus will be on adding the new artwork and ensuring everything aligns visually and the story flows coherently. Once that’s done (it will probably take up the whole week), I’ll return to the work I had started earlier.

That's all.

Have a wonderful weekend.

P.S. We know people are tired of waiting through what seems like an endless series of polish tasks. While from my perspective of playing and testing the game, the work we’re doing right now makes sense, it's completely understandable if you disagree or feel like this will never end. You’ve supported us for many months, through some of the toughest periods of our lives (without exaggeration), and we don’t want you to feel like there’s no end in sight. So, we’re considering annoucing a release date soon (we'll wait to see how our work progresses over the next two weeks before announcing it) and doing everything we can to meet it, so we can finally put 0.7 behind us.

Comments

I found this game recently and played through it all in 4 days, probably the most well done game I've played. Can't wait for the update!

Long_Claw

Your game is so exceptionally fun and such a higher quality than every other game out there, of course I wish it was done, of course I wish you had a dozen other games that were finished, but if you did, they wouldn’t be done with the exceptional quality and in the way that makes me want them. I trust your judgment.

Stouter

Take your time because it is your art.

Good work takes time. Even though we've been waiting for a long time, I'm sure the game is very well done and the images and sounds are much more polished and of better quality. I, honestly, will be super happy the day I see this wonderful game on Steam, even if I have to wait a long time for that, I don't mind :) A job well done takes time. Things go wrong quickly and in a hurry.

I'm supporting because this a project I care about and I can tell the people making it also care about producing something beautiful and fun. Work is hard, timelines are weird, life happens! Excited to hear about a release date, but no pressure from this side :)
