Weekly report 229

Hi everybody.

I hope you're all feeling well and have had a great week. In this week's report I want to outline our plans from now until the release of 0.7, and hopefully, that will give everyone an idea of what to expect:

Release date:

Two weeks ago we said that if everything goes as planned in the final weeks of September, we would announce a release date. Although things have been progressing well and we're happy with the improvements, I almost reconsidered doing that, since the last time we gave a release date, things didn’t go as planned. Our hope is that this time things will be better (wish us luck!), and so I’m happy to say we will release 0.7 in the last week of November.

Our plan for October and November:

Chestnut is done with her art for now, and I believe I will also finish the first round of polish by the end of the first week of October.

Then we'll play the game again and prepare for the second round of polish, fixing things we broke in the first round (I already know of a couple of issues). In addition, we'll add extra optional dialogues, double-check to ensure there are no conflicts between different stories, add new sound effects (we need improvements here), and shorten longer dialogues by removing the fluff (I have started this, but haven't finished it yet), etc.

By the first week of November, we should be done with everything content-wise, and will spend a couple of days optimizing the code, especially the sex scenes, to ensure the game performs as well as the rest of the current content. Then we'll send the game out to external testers. Usually, by this time, we have tested the game a lot so most of the issues have been found, and I think with 2 weeks of external feedback we should be able to have 0.7 readied in time.

Friend tier and above patrons will get the game a day before everyone else. I should also say that we will very likely release the unofficial Android port together with the public release.

Avatars:

A reminder that if you're a Best Friend or a Close Friend tier patron (or if you've been one in the past) you can have your avatar displayed in the game in the Friends book and, in the case of Best Friends, on the heart on the wall of the tent. So, make your avatar here and message us its digit and your chosen name (and optional message) and we'll add them to the game for 0.7.

I do also want to outline 0.7's content again so people have a good idea of what to expect, but this report has become too long already, so I'll keep that for later.
