Hi everybody.
Happy Friday, and I hope you've had a great week and are ready for the weekend.
Most of my work last week focused on going through the code and trimming the fat, shortening longer texts, and improving the pacing at the dialogue level (I had already done it at the story level). I also added several optional convos for new and existing characters, some of the convos being taken wholesale from the earlier longer events. This way, players who are interested in learning more about the lore have a way of doing so without impacting those who don't.
My plan was to also optimize the sex scenes and other image-heavy events, but that will have to wait for next week. Another task I must finish next week is adding the cutscenes to the crystal ball. Lastly, I need to fix a few bugs and spend two or three days doing something I've wanted to do for a while: improve the sound and the music added in this update.
At the end of 0.7's story, you can speak with Gomira and repeat five of her sex scenes without the need to use the crystal ball, even though three of these sex scenes originally happened in a different location. Going through them again, I have noticed that simply changing their backgrounds wasn’t enough an I’ll need to adjust at least two of them at the animation level.
Before writing this report, I was sure we'd reach our deadline; now, I honestly wish we had one or two more weeks to ensure everything's ready as planned (I'll confirm whether we actually need more time or not in the next week's report). I don't want to end the report on a negative note, though, especially since we're indeed extremely close to the finish line of our most challenging update so far, and as I've been playing through the content, I'm hopeful that most people will enjoy the story and its one or two surprises.
