Hi everybody.

Happy Friday! I hope you're all feeling well and are ready for a relaxing weekend. Before I outline our work from last week, I want to mention that the Hidden Photos poll for 0.8 concluded last Tuesday and we have three winners: Simmone Hammerdick, Aureola, and Gretta.

Now the report:

Last week, I first finished coding the structure of the update, including the hints. There are a few potential conflicts between different events and characters that could cause bugs or inconsistencies. More specifically, if you cannot play Holly's second quest and Rose's first quest simultaneously -- once you start one you'll have to finish it before you can play the other. It's a bit inconvenient, but that is what happens when characters play vital roles in each other's quests.

Once I was done with the base coding, I immediately started writing. So far, I've been revising the dialogue from Holly's first quest, especially the parts involving Dear Celeastina and the glasses. I can't wait to finish this and start the content of the new quest, but that probably won't happen until mid-next week.

Chestnut has continued her work on sprites and sprite design. This update has involved a lot of them, and they have taken up all of her time. I cannot discuss most of them because that would spoil the story, but the melon seller twins are turning out great. We'll definitely share more of them later, either as a spoiler, a video, or both.

She plans to finish the preliminary design of the new sprites, and now that she has the characters, she says she'll need to make a few changes to the existing storyboards. That's also what she'll be working on next week. Our goal has been to storyboard everything for this release, and even though it's taken us more work than before, we know it'll be worth it.

P.S. Tomorrow, Saturday, is Chestnut's birthday. We had already arranged for a babysitter, though, so we'll be working on the game as usual. Instead, we'll take next Saturday off to celebrate her birthday with the kids.
