Hi everybody.

It's finally Friday, and I hope a restful weekend is waiting for you. We had a productive week overall, although both Chestnut and I need one more week to hit our respective targets. Here's a bit more detail:

Chestnut has been busy over the last couple of weeks designing, drawing, coloring, and preparing the new sprites for the 0.8 story (see the finished Twin sisters here). She needs a few more days (I mentioned a week above to be safe) to wrap this stage of her work up. Once you play the 0.8, the nature and type of sprites she's creating will make more sense. Suffice it to say they're a variation on some of our existing characters and also have a humorous touch to them. In addition to the sprites, and to vary her tasks a little, she has also started to lay the groundwork for some of the cutscenes we'll have in the earlier parts of the update.

My goal was to finish the first draft of 0.8 and start posing this March. I'm not going to hit that goal, and I'll need one full week of hard work to get there. On the plus side, I think the story is coming together well. Today, I prepared a detailed version of the draft so far for Chestnut (with commentary and explanation for text variations depending on different variables and conditions) to read and give feedback on. She had already read most of the text but never together as a whole.

I do have one or two concerns. For example, there's some intentional repetition in the earlier parts of the story, but I wonder if it works as intended. Another challenge is the word count. I'm already at 25,000 words, and I want to ensure that I don't exceed 35,000 words: my self-imposed word limit to ensure a timely release.

Next week, Chestnut will complete her initial work on the sprites and give me feedback on everything I've written so far.

I will finish the writing, trim anything that can be cut without affecting the story, and prepare my notes and the to-fix list for the second draft based on Chestnut's comments. I will then begin working on the second draft of the story while simultaneously posing.
