The game seems to crash whenever a textbox tries to wobble (not all the time, but definitely a noticeable amount).

2021-11-20 19:18:40 +0000 UTCI got past the black screen by making a save in the japanese version, then going through the game until the first save after the first battle. Then I copy/pasted the japanese save files into the english-patched version and the game started running for me. Hope this helps you (you miss out on the starting dialogue, which is a little unfortunate, not gonna lie).

2021-11-14 00:17:11 +0000 UTCI also get a black screen when starting a new game, but music keeps playing. If I rename a save file, all the other save files are named that as well. Using Project64
