always was team mcqueen for this race, never gonna jump ship. this one i didn't know the irl results of (same with most races) so it was truly a wonder to me of who was going to win and how. glad finally got around to this reaction, season 2 really is special!

2025-10-27 19:12:20 +0000 UTCI'll put this into even more perspective here why everyone is upset at rice shower that Pyrrhixz unfortunately doesn't really touch on in his video. For Bourbon, the real horse was unbeaten and about to win the triple crown. In history, only Symboli Rudolf has ever done that. The unbeaten triple crown that is. Bourbon would have been the 5th ever triple crown winner. Now I think the McQueen record that rice stopped was even bigger. No horse has ever won 3 spring tennis shos in a row. Its a massive race so winning a 3200m race with no age requirements (so you're up against the best of multiple generations) is incredibly hard. So McQueen was about to be the first horse to ever win it 3 times in a row (the record has still never been set at 3). On top of that, i forget the exact number, but it's something like only 4 horses in history have ever won 2 spring tennis shos in a row which McQueen is a part of. On top of this, McQueen was the first ever to win 2 in a row. So imagine holding a record of 3, when only a handful in history can barely even get 2. It would have undoubtedly set the horse in stone as the greatest stayer (long distance runner) in Japanese horse racing history. Also fun fact, when you win the Tenno Sho, which translates to "Emperors Prize", the shield you win is given to the winning jockey and trainer by the Japanese Imperial Family. Out of the spring and autumn tennis shos, the spring is the most prestigious. McQueen is my favourite horse so I've done my fair share of deep dives on the lore. Absolutely beautiful horse and peak uma design.
