Wille has been 16 since the beginning of the series, since the entire series takes place during one school year. So only now has he become 17. I think Augustโs letter to himself is heartbreaking, and it shows him being vulnerable in the way he seldom is to anyone but Sara. Seeing how terrified Simon looks after Willeโs confrontation with his parents, I can fully understand why he says what he does to Wille. And by the way, the woman playing the guitar when the family is singing the birthday song to Wille is Lisa Ambjรถrn, the creator of the series.
