I guess it's the idea of someone who falls outside the bounds of societal respectability and the potential dangers of association (not saying it's right, just a terrible aspect of how people disrespect those who fall through the cracks). Bit of a minefield though because I'd want to treat it respectfully while also acknowledging the desirable aspects of someone living that lifestyle π
