Andor | Season 1 Episodes 8-10 | Full Reaction

I think this might be one of the most intensely beautiful arcs I've ever seen in Star Wars so far, and that's really saying something. This entire prison arc is brilliant, heartbreaking, claustrophobic, and yet still so full of human spirit. Every detail of Narkina 5 felt alive. That slow burn of despair turned into solidarity and finally erupting into that powerful, collective cry for one way out? Goosebumps all the way through.

Cassian continues to quietly amaze me. He doesn't walk into these moments like a hero waiting to make another statement, yet somehow, he always becomes one. Not by ego but by survival, empathy, and pure brilliant instinct. Watching him calculate and learn to pull others together to escape instead of just doing it for himself speaks volumes. It felt like watching a part of the Rebel Alliance being awakened and born right there in that prison.

And then there's Luthen. That speech in Episode 10. One of my top favorites, forever. I don't even really know if I can put it into words. He's terrifying, inspiring, and tragic all at once. The way he explains what he has lost for the cost of rebellion. The sacrifices, the loneliness, the shadows he has lived in. It had Shakespearean weight to it. He's a man who has already burned his soul for the cause and is smart enough to know there will be no seeing its true beautiful outcome. But he still burns on. Because he wants to yes, but also because he's gone too far to ever turn back now.

Mon Mothma's side was equally fascinating to watch. Where Cassian fought with his fists, she fights with her wealth, reputation and diplomacy. But her sacrifices are just as real and painful. Just as suffocating and claustrophobic. The political tension around her story adds this whole other layer to the rebellion's beginnings. No blasters, no prison breaks. Just debts, boardrooms, and backroom deals.

The beauty of watching these three episodes together is that they show rebellion as a tapestry. It's woven together with the desperate, the broken, the calculating, and the hopeful. It's not just one heroic moment, but thousands of little ones strung together.

I'm floored. Andor just keeps surprising me and I'm not ready for Season 1 to already end next week. But I'll see you all there!

Episode 10 is just so freakin good! 2 amazingly written monologues acted perfectly by Andy Serkis and Stellan Skaarsgard! Even after multiple viewings both of them still bring tears to my eyes. You're right about how competent the Empire is in this show compared to other Star Wars projects. They are truly terrifying here. Dedra in particular. We've seen how good she is at sussing things out. Then in those scenes with Bix we see her cruelty and resolve. Which is why the Rebellion needs people like Cassian, Mon Mothma, and Luthen. A soldier spy who inspires others and knows how to improvise to get things done. A cool and collected Senator high up in authority. And a man in the shadows willing to do whatever it takes no matter the morals or consequences. I can't sing this show's praises enough!

This was such a good series of 3 episodes! With the prison, I love how it showed within that closed system, how rebellions start. How it's not just one spark. But a series of well placed embers smoldering over time until the heat has built. Cassian in particular showing why he's such an amazing leader of said rebellion. So observant, calculating, and adaptive to the situation and individuals he's dealing with. Really enjoyed all the twists and turns of this one! Also, I think my favorite unexpected part of this episode was Andy Serkis! This was probably the first time I've seen him (as a man) in a serious role with extended screen time, and he was just so good! Especially with the emotions he silently conveyed with his facial expressions
