⚠️ Scream Warning: Please be mindful of your volume for this video. I tried to be brave, but I'm so sorry in advance lol.
Okay... For those who've been with me since the early days (aka a year ago lol), you might remember that I tried to watch this movie last year and failed miserably. The moment Annabelle's face flashed across the screen, I panicked, hit pause, and literally "nope, not today, Satan" 😅🤣 The fact that I made it all the way through this time really feels like a personal accomplishment... Though, I may never sleep soundly again hahaha
For those that don't know, I hate paranormal anything. Not because I don't believe in it, but because I really do. Working overnight in a hospital changed me into a believer very quickly. I've shared one of my many stories with you all in the intro here and if you'd like to hear more, I am definitely up to share them! During those years at the hospital, I also happened to live in a home that had some extra residents. So yes, I came into The Conjuring already fully believing. Which made it ten times harder when I saw "based on a true story" flash on the screen 😅
This movie had me in a constant state of goosebumps. They didn't leave my skin the entire time and even started to hurt when it got too intense hahaha. But honestly, the story itself really got me. This family just trying to start over, moving into their dream home, and instead being slowly swallowed by the darkness.. It's not flashy 'horror' like we've been watching this month. It's patient. Haunting. Evil. Watching the Perrons go from playful disbelief to full-on desperation was terrifying and tragic. If it wasn't for the Warrens, they would have been so easily and quickly consumed like the others before them.
So yes, I finally faced The Conjuring. And it faced me right back. I'm proud that I made it through, even if I'm looking over my shoulder every second while typing this lol. I'll be sleeping with the lights on tonight and maybe every night for the rest of this month. Sage will be burning. And this movie? It honestly earned every one of my heart palpitations 🤣
Happy Spooky Month! Thank you all for joining me ✨
