GWL3D Development Process.

Just wanted to make a post to go over the basics of how this project is going to develop.

Right now GWL3D is in the earliest stages of production. My immediate focus is 2D asset creation, because it’s a fairly straightforward process and I have experience with it from working on the visual novel series.

This involves stuff like.

I’ll be working on all this stuff in between commissions, my dream is to focus on GWL3D full time, but I need to reach the first Patreon goal before that becomes a reality. I’ll continue to advertise the Patreon and drum up interest, because the more support this project gets, the quicker it can go into full time development.

Once the Patreon goal is met and the game goes into full development, I’ll start working on 3D assets alongside the 2D stuff. This is when I’ll bring in additional artists to help move things along quicker.

This includes

After a good number of 2D and 3D assets have been created, I’ll focus on creating the first beta version of the game. The plan is to start small with a reasonably sized area to explore. This area will also act as a tutorial, offering players a chance to start and complete their first storyline scenario! There will be unlockable art/animations along the way, and maybe even a bonus or two for adventurous explorers!

I don’t think the game will need an in depth tutorial, at the heart of it, GWL3D is a fun adventure game packed with lots of porn, but I still think it’ll help to have a self contained area right at the start. Somewhere players can get to grips with how things work, and be taught the importance of exploration and character interaction… Also it helps get to the porn quicker, which is always good in a porn game.

Patreon supporters will get first access to this beta version, and sometime later it’ll be released online. I’m hoping this demo version brings more attention to the Patreon, which in turn gives us more funds to work with.

So, once the demo is out, where do we go from there? Well it’s pretty straightforward after that! Development just becomes a case of adding more and more content. More characters, more locations, more storylines, more animations and more art! This will be the time when those milestone perks really come into play. I’ll contact Patreon supporters about getting their designs in the game. I’ll also be holding polls for people to vote on what they’d like to see in game.

Updated beta versions will be released consistently throughout development, and the majority of these will be Patreon exclusive.

There’s going to be some surprise rewards in the future too, something special for Patreon supporters who have helped bring this game to life!

I hope this gives a good idea of how development will go, I’m hoping it takes off like a snowball effect. Right now things are slow, but if people keep hearing about the project and joining the Patreon, development will get faster and faster.
