(As a reminder, access to our Discord comes with subscriptions at the West Coast Straussian level and above.) This will be more rank punditry than philosophy of voting, but I'm sure we'll range widely, so come ready with questions, comments, or other contributions that help us all get through this together. 2024-11-12 19:25:47 +0000 UTCIt is going to be strange to have Sam and Matt talk about the historical precedents and roots of far right policies as they roll out of the Trump admin. I feel like I need another Project 2025 episode or an episode about the most "far right" period in US history and how the country pivoted away from that. Also I don't entirely know what to make of the fact that, a midst all of this, voter turn out was down for both candidates relative to 2020. There is a real trend towards the right in this county and winning the popular vote is meaningful but I feel like that fact that Trump got 3 million votes fewer than he did in 2020 undercuts that.

Democrats need to stop running from this issue and hoping it will go away.
