So!
One of the $20-tier art requests from April solicited the concept of Emp from Empowered depicted as "the Chained Goddess" from fantasy project The Chaste and the Chained. I tried for an Alphonse-Mucha-inspired illo (as seen in a photo from a reference book of mine):
...and worked up this rough pose for Emp:
...which, oddly enough, was derived from another photo with an upper-torso pose quite similar to the Mucha illo.
Wellp, earlier in this month I kinda-sorta finished the illo, after slathering on a chain motif based on an outline-generating layer in Clip Studio Paint:
That is, I drew the chains as white linework with the layer spawning a black outline. Shockingly effective for such a simple approach, gotta say.
Note that I lost patience with rendering Emp's hair in true Mucha fashion, and just left the stylized mane as is. Note that this approach is not unlike the riff I was considering for the Half-Elf's hair from other fantasy project The Last Party:
...which, of late, is a visual flourish that I might end up discarding, as the technique looks good but is incredibly time-consuming.
Speaking of $20-tier art reqs, here's another Empowered-based one from last year combining her with an OC superheroine (or villainess, mayhap?):
And now, back to work on on a new introductory story for fantasy project The Chaste and the Chained, folks! Finished roughing out all 31pp yesterday, and am now moving on to scripting the dang thing, which I hope to wrap up (along with recopied and redrawn page thumbnails) before the end of the month. Yay?
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No idea, TBH, but something should be coming up in the next M/W/F slot. Let's find out together, shall we?
