Ok. So. I'm really not sure about this video. This is something I've kinda stayed away from, for a while now, because I am worried I will sound like an out of touch snob lol. And maybe I am being an out of touch snob! I am really excited to see the comments around this video - and if my mind is changed!
For me... Homages are a nuanced conversation. There are some that have clearly taken inspiration from a model and have created their own interpretation of that design. But then there's some that feel so on-the-nose almost-the-same that it's like "Dude..." haha! But I genuinely can't tell if I am being out of touch. LET ME KNOW IF I AM! And I'd love to know your personal takes on homages. Do you own homages?! Are you a homage enthusiast and you think I am dead wrong?! I want to hear all thoughts!

Now I definitely would not buy an homage, but that has much more to do with me transforming into a giant watch nerd. I do think of little 4th grade me proudly going to school with my new Vans look alike tennis shoes from Payless drug store. Every little kid in Southern California wore Vans when I was in school. I had no idea they were not the "right" shoes till a little 4th grade boy told me they did not have the red badge & those aren't like our shoes. So I guess I give a little bit of slack to those that want the nice watch but can't afford the real thing.
