Common misheard/remembered lyric is from Snow White. Many people assume the lyric in the song introducing the dwarfs is "Hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go". However, the correct line is "it's home from work we go." The confusion comes from the short reprised song as Snow White is sending them all off to work.

2025-01-19 20:17:22 +0000 UTCI have a question regarding the Sword Storage... Are these "precious historical/personal artifacts that all need individual display" or are a large number of these "basically worthless junk you were gifted because you like swords which are of no historical or great personal value individually but you don't want to just throw away - re see above like swords"? If it's mostly the latter, then one possibility I just want to throw out there as you have been suggesting projects involving metal works is that a selection of less valuable swords could be polished up and wealded together into a sculpture that forms the basis of [say] a standard lamp or just some large peice of dramatic art work that could stand in the corner of the room and be much more interesting as a collective peice than the individual items displayed on their own. And you can then mount the remaining swords you actually care about individually. Just a possibility?

2025-01-17 15:34:38 +0000 UTCI love mis-heard lyrics. My first experience was "there's a bathroom on the right" (Bad Moon Rising), and then there was the groundhog-day experience of waking two consecutive mornings to the radio alarm clock playing "I keep bleating" (Bleeding Love) when I nearly smashed the clock. So many lyrics are unintelligible.

2025-01-16 16:08:27 +0000 UTCWhen Grease came out friends sister got a record of the songs and he and I had great fun listening to the song "Tubby Boy", didn't understand the rest of the lyrics but loved hearing "Tubby Boy, Tubby Boy". Still remember being offended at my dad claiming it was "Tell me more" cause that just didn't make any sense.

2025-01-16 12:34:41 +0000 UTCI originally misheard a different part of the song. Watching the movie, it's not like you get the title at the beginning, so it sounded like she wrapped up the song with "I am a womaaaan!" which .. I feel would have hit a lot different than the real, properly understood crescendo does. 😂

2025-01-16 12:12:15 +0000 UTCI was trying to persuade a friend that in Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath", Ian Anderson is singing "No way to slow down" and not "No it won't slow down". Official lyrics were consulted and I was then owed lunch.
