Like A C6 (a random musical theory fact for your Wednesday)

Enjoy! And keep an eye out for a Daredevil fight breakdown coming in the next week or so :)

I had taken far too many music theory (including GCSE music and Grade 5 music theory) by the time I had figured out how the notes were actually numbered.

I think it it's her microphone?

I have been pulled back in time to my days taking state music theory exams. Elementary school me would be proud to remember this information. Thank you 😊

Just what I need! More unnecessary information for my brain cells. Unfortunately, this information caused "how to do calculus" to fall in the bit bucket.

I more-or-less know why we're not asking about the sharp thing, but I'm less sure why we're not asking about the (? depth gauge?) thing on it. TBH, I tend to binge, and haven't in a while. Would all be clear if I had been paying attention?

I feel like I should have known this? I took piano back in the day... In any case, thanks for the random facts!

You're reminding me of the Dalek version of this I was going to do. "Dough - an early form of bread. Ray - A beam of energy" It turns out Dalek voices on different pitches is complicated with the way ring modulator interacts. My Dalek singing "10 green bottles" took a few takes and still doesn't sound quite right.

Doe, a deer, a female deer, ray - a drop of golden sun...

Anyone else got "You're Welcome!"(From Disney's Moana) stuck in their head now? Thanks!!! ;-)

Jonathan Humphreys

Sorry I've bad news for you. Music is indexed from concert pitch A being 440Hz = A4 then it runs up and down from there, technically forever (even long past human hearing range) so there is also A-1 and A-2 and A-3 and so on as you go lower and lower. So the piano doesn't go below A0 but you could create an instrument to play A-1 even though most humans couldn't hear it (at 13.75 Hz) but if loud enough you could *feel* it.

Ekij

It was the "You're welcome!" at the end that got me. 😄

Samuel Smith

As an IT worker, I applaud indexing things from zero. It's completely unexpected outside of IT, however.

I have avoided music theory for 72 years in spite of being a singer/ sometime instrumentalist, and you are dragging me into the fringes! Carry on....
