2025-03-16 22:43:56 +0000 UTCI haven't watched season 3, but after this video I kind of want to at least watch the fight scenes. 🤔😁 On an unrelated note, unless there's more context of which I'm unaware, it's REMARKABLE that that cab driver stuck around despite apparently being able to hear and see (the part in the yard anyway) the legit large-scale prison riot going on right next to him. Kinda feel like most people would've have noped out before it got quite that far. 😅

2025-03-13 20:51:21 +0000 UTCSomething that just occurred to me: I'm very impressed by the degree to which Charlie Cox remembers not to look at things he's interacting with. Except when he's actively pretending to be sighted, Matt's eyes 'look' in the direction his face is pointed, no matter what he's interacting with or who he's talking to, and he doesn't do a perfect job of 'looking' at the right thing even when he is pretending. When he's alone, he tends to let his eyelids droop, which is something a lot of blind people do, and serves the dual purpose of making Matt look tired, as you have to figure he is a lot of the time. It's pretty impressive physical acting on Charlie's part.

2025-03-12 22:16:52 +0000 UTCI require a third Bob. Also the avatar movie was so trash I would love to see if there was any redeeming quality you can find in the fight choreography

2025-03-11 07:25:44 +0000 UTCI love these fight analysis and am putting in my vote for the Return of Bob! Because I am a completionist and also have become oddly attached to Bob after the last two.

2025-03-10 22:26:16 +0000 UTCI have watched the two DD:BA episode and liked them. I like that they're reviving the NFLX shows and I like the writing so far on this one. I agree that Disney could ruin a wet dream but they appear to be keeping mostly hands-off with this one so we'll see.

2025-03-10 21:15:38 +0000 UTCIt's not as stupid as it sounds. Fire is a reason for guards to remove prisoners from their cells and is a typical ploy used by inmates who want to start trouble or get out of the box for a bit. There's not enough material to burn for there to be serious smoke inhalation problems - it's mostly just an annoyance.

2025-03-10 21:13:28 +0000 UTCNo doubt naive YT question: what about the parts of the scenes you blocked would cause issues? Clearly not just gratuitous violence...

2025-03-10 14:18:38 +0000 UTCRotten Tomatoes gives Born Again 83%, so that's good. Definitely want to see the triumphant ending to the Bob Saga. See you in... almost three weeks.

2025-03-10 14:00:23 +0000 UTC"Daredevil: Born Again" is being released episodically, so only two episodes are out right now- it does feature a fight between Daredevil and Bullseye though, if you want to check that out (should probably review the ones they have in season 3 first though). It will take a long time for the whole show to be out. Also, I'm probably one of the only people in the world who gets really annoyed with this whole season, and this fight especially- albeit, mostly for story rather than choreography reasons, as the idea that Fisk setting up his own assassination attempt or only giving the Feds gangsters he's in a rivalry with is somehow a big revelation rather than something that should have been obvious to anyone, along with Fisk being able to bully and blackmail his FBI guards or why he thinks giving all of his guards reasons to hate him is a good idea in the first place. An unfortunate weakness of the whole show is remaking Kingpin into this shy, emotionally volatile introvert who is also an evil genius with near superhuman strength and a violent temper, who people constantly underestimate yet somehow controls almost all the crime in the city and everyone knows it....in other words, it depends a great deal on selective ignorance and people being dumb. "Born Again" is a major comic book storyline from the 1980s, and while the Disney series takes the name, season 3 is the one that adapts the actual story- although, they changed so much that they had to invent a new character (main FBI guy) and give Matt's entire story arc to him instead, and generally missed the point of that comic or what made it so important. (rant over, sorry)
