Jane Austen In SPACE
Added 2025-07-21 14:00:07 +0000 UTCI went through this series like a hot knife through butter, let me share my joy.
Because a lot of you told me I'd like it, and I did. And several of you told me I remind you of Cordelia, and...I now appreciate the depth of the compliment :)

My two favorite character driven sci-fi series are The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers, and The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. They are both on my re-read when I need emotional support audiobook list.

2025-07-27 12:01:16 +0000 UTCI do recommend finishing the series, if you haven't yet! I found Diplomatic Immunity and Cryoburn a bit slower going, so will be interested to see whether an upcoming re-read changes my perception. Captain Vorpatril's Alliance was a great romp, Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen was the perfect answer to my "I want more from Cordelia's POV!" and The Flowers of Vashnoi was a very satisfying final glimpse into Ekaterin's growth into her full potential. All three keep Miles in the background so the other characters get their chance to shine!

2025-07-21 20:14:54 +0000 UTCDon't know how I missed this series (I'm a huge Honor Harrington and Heris Serrano fan, so it feels like I should have gotten it recommended), but I'm checking it out. Thank you!

2025-07-21 16:03:20 +0000 UTCMy wife and I started it from Warriors Apprentice, which left us so committed to the character that when we finished Komarr we were doing a happy dance chanting 'Miles has a girlfriend. '

2025-07-21 14:19:17 +0000 UTCActually started reading the Vorkosigan saga as it was published (because yes, I'm old), but A Civil Campaign is my favorite. Just finished listening to the audiobook, now working my way through Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen. (also fabulous, if you haven't gotten to it yet)!
