Hi everyone! It's time for another calendar :)
I must say, this calendar is probably one of my favourite calendar designs yet. I LOVE the colour palette I went with, it's not my normal 'go to colours' but it looks very good if I say so myself. It was challenging not to use my usual pink and purples haha. I wanted a deep sea blue and coral pink. I think they go very well together :) What do you think ? 

Of course this calendar is inspired by the art challenge "MerMAY", where artist draw mermaids during May! 🧜‍♀️🧜🏾‍♂️✨
It's one of my favourite art challenges! I'm definitely going to post some mermaids this month since I finally have more time now to sit down and draw from time to time for the first time in months!   💜

Personal life update:

I've finally started my tattoo apprenticeship ! I started on the 7th of march and so far I've spent my time at Valkyrie Tattoo Studio watching my lovely mentor work and ask her A LOT of questions, haha.
Then I got to practice with a few tattoo machines on fake skin, which was a lot of fun and very difficult. The machine is vibrating obviously so you have to get used to the feeling of 'drawing' with it. Which is so strange for me to get used to, my lines are so shaky...
Then you also need to get used to an unpredictable surface, drawing on skin with a vibrating needle is so new and strange to me haha. Which isn't surprising.  
It's a completely new and different method for me to "draw" obviously, but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it, slowly but surely.
Also on top of everything, since tattoo artist are basically creating 'fresh wounds on skin' there are a lot of rules you need to follow to keep everything safe and hygienic. It was so overwhelming at first to learn all the rules but they quickly become a habit fortunately. :)  

But I LOVE everything so far! I did my very first tattoo on my mentor's skin the other day, unfortunately she was in so much pain while I was doing it bless her, but it went so much better than I expected, it looks pretty damn alright for a first tattoo!
Definitely see a future in this industry and I feel like for the first time in my life that I'm going somewhere where I should be. 🥰 It has always been my dream to make art my full time job and I can now see that it's becoming possible. So excited about it.
I feel so blessed for this opportunity and that I've found such a good studio and a talented and kind mentor to teach me. 💜
I won't be taking any clients soon haha, I'm still learning, but I have a handful of friends (victims 😈) who are so kind to trust me to practice on their skin, under my mentor's guidance of-course. It will be exciting how that turns out! 

I can't wait to see what the future will hold !
