Loyalty Incentive Second Wave: Mbwiri

The tale of the Mbwiri, a demon that possesses the souls of unsuspecting victims, causing them to endure agonizing epileptic fits and dance uncontrollably until they are driven to the brink of insanity.

It is said that when the Mbwiri strikes, the only hope for salvation is the local shaman, the only one who knows how to exorcise the demon and free the victim from its grasp. Villagers would gather in terror, their eyes wide with fear, and call on the shaman for aid when a possession was suspected.

But the shaman's methods were not for the faint of heart. He would build a special hut, away from the prying eyes of the village, in which he and the afflicted would reside for days on end. The shaman knew that the spirit of the Mbwiri despised good living and thus, he would lavish his patient with great feasts, hoping to lure the demon out of hiding.

As the days wore on, the feasts grew more lavish, the dancing more frenzied, and the cries more haunting. And then, suddenly, it would all stop. The victim would be free from the grip of the Mbwiri, and the shaman would emerge, victorious.

But what happened inside that hut, behind those closed doors, no one dared to ask. For it was said that the Mbwiri was not a demon to be trifled with, and those who dared to cross it would suffer a fate worse than death itself.

So beware, dear listeners, for the Mbwiri still roams the forests and villages of Central Africa, waiting for its next unsuspecting victim. And only the shaman knows how to defeat it.
