Welcome to Heroic Maps!

Hello! Welcome to our Patreon Map of the Month Club.

We create battlemaps for tabletop fantasy and sci-fi RPGs. Our maps allow players to explore unique, detailed and exciting locations and our accompanying game supplements help GMs run fun adventures. Your support means we can provide GMs with even more places in which to let their players run riot and to thank you we have some great rewards.

Thinking of supporting us? Please read our FAQ.

What?
Patrons receive up to 9 new maps a month. Every month, we make a Map of the Month for our patrons and a whole host of variants, alt-versions and completely different maps, as well as supplements to help you use the maps.

We have tiers for both fantasy fans and those who also want sci-fi maps.

Patrons also have access to a VTT vault containing hundreds of maps. Map list.

Why?

By kindly becoming a patron of Heroic Maps on Patreon, you will help us have a more predictable income and that will allow us to spend more time creating maps.

We have some great rewards to thank you.

How?
Choose our $5 per month reward tier to support our work - every month we'll give you a link to download your rewards.

Choose our $8 tier to get all of the $5 tier rewards plus 2 sci-fi themed maps every month.

Rewards are in pdf and jpg/png formats and in grid/gridless versions. Patrons get both high-quality versions for printing and lower resolution versions for VTT use.

Foundry players: choose one of our FoundryVTT tiers to also get your maps set-up as a FoundryVTT module with walls, doors and lighting.

Every month that you support us, you can download a bundle of maps and supplements that your support and ideas have helped to create!

Every month our $5 patrons receive:

Maps:

Plus:

And even more plus:

Patrons also get:

How will I receive my rewards?

Our reward bundles contain large files and so are hosted on DrivethruRPG. On Rewards day (or when you first join), you'll be sent a set of codes for the maps on DrivethruRPG. Clicking these codes will add the maps to your DTRPG account for free. You can then download the maps whenever you want to - they'll stay in your account at DTRPG forever. We just ask that you click the code and claim your maps within 2 months of receiving the code.

GM supplements and FoundryVTT rewards are available here on Patreon.

We are Joe and Sarah and we have been designing and making detailed, high-res battlemaps and terrains for tabletop RPG games since 2013.  These are available on DrivethruRPG as pdf and jpg downloads for printing or VTT.  We have a huge backlog of ideas for RPG maps that we want to make, quite a few of which have been suggested by you, and we would love to spend more time making them.

Comments

Did you ever (or will you ever) finish the multi level town set from 2019? I believe there is an open area north of the cathedral.

Brandon Forrey

It would be a huge value add if the Sci-Fi tier were separate from all the fantasy content. Looking at all the various map making competitors out there, this is fairly common, and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to justify the high sub price for 75% of content that I don't typically have any use for.

Lloyd Ritchey

Part of the problem is that DriveThruRPG insists upon attempting to archive (zip) .JPG files that cannot be further compressed. I doubt that the download tool is smart enough to know to use the zip -0 argument, to just store JPG files, rather than try to compress them prior to downloading them. I'll contact them about this.

Charles Seljos

The DriveThruRPG tool downloads 10's of thousands of assets in to a specific tree-like structure. If you leave the files there, then it remembers that you already downloaded that file, and tells you if there is a new version. If you move the files out of that tree structure, it loses track of what you already downloaded, but it's fine. You are not forced to maintain that structure. :)

James Long

I will test it but I order my files in very own way, I hope this tool does not force the File tree structure. Thank you !

Bruno Marcon

Did you ever try the DriveThru download tool? That helps a lot. You just click download all and done.

Tillerz

Dear, the new DriveThruRPG way for download file is really a mess, I need a lot lot of time to download files, one by one, not two in parallel. I must click on file, wait the download start, then click on another file. Is there a way to get all the files more easily ? I hope I will not have to spend 40mn each month to download a reward ? :-|

Bruno Marcon

Hi, I am still waiting on a reply to my September 26 message regarding this month's subscription. I know you are busy, but can you please respond, as I do not want to miss September's releases.

Robert Ackling

In previous years, they put this and that on sale for the DTRPG Halloween sale, so you'll probably have to wait for that. I don't blame you.. Years ago, I joined this Patreon just to make sure that I never missed any of the Siobury Hollow content. :)

James Long

Love love love the maps! Any chance we'll be getting a sale/discount code on the Halloween maps on DTRPG sooner rather than later? Would like to stock up for the coming autumnal season.... ;)

Some help please! looking for Wood Buildings: log cabins, Viking Houses, saltbox style, cottages basically wood walled plan in lieu of stone walled plans. Which current set(s) would have these. I see Ashweald Hold, HalflingShire (although it seems earthbound)? Most building interiors are stone walled or am I missing wooden wall set or two?

Ken Jarosz

I support more than a dozen map creators and there are very, very few Drow-specific maps. I'd really appreciate some Drow-themed temples, cities, etc. If Drow is too specific, then some Underdark would be a decent consolation.

E Rad

My vote is always for something steampunk! I would also love some mars maps that would work for John Carter or Space 1889.... I'm thinking martian cities and canals, skyships, martian steppe environments that kind of stuff

Adam Hanson

Hi guys - when it comes to battlemap extras there are plenty of boats, big ships, mine carts and the like, but nothing organic. Would it be possible to make a pack of horses, mules, draft horses, oxen and carts? Even stuff like camels or alpacas for a desert or mountain journey would be great too. I much prefer putting a mini on to a flat animal mini, as the actual 28mm mounted minis often look nothing like the real characters, and even when they do, they cost a fortune! cheers Paul

Paul Lawrence

We've got Golden Vault 5 95% done

Heroic Maps

I've got my fingers crossed that you manage to do all the Heist maps.

Emily

You get access to the VTT vault of all previous maps, containing gridless VTT versions of all the maps, but no, you don't have access to the full versions of previous maps, just the maps released in the months you've directly paid for :)

Heroic Maps

If I undestand right, I cannot have the previous maps, only the monthly. right? =(

Raphael Lamour

Hello! I have been a fan of yours since I started DM'n online. Absolutely love your art style, keep up the good work!

Tory

Love this! And I love your bunches too on dtrpg and the humble bundles!

David Geary

You get access to the month's maps you've paid for (so, in your case, Septembers), and you also get access to the Year 1 vault (link in your inbox message). You don't get access to everything else though, as your $5 pledge didn't support their creation. It's all explained in this post, and the FAQ that's linked above :)

Heroic Maps

René Bargisen

No, not at all. You'll get your month's rewards in A4 PDF, 300dpi full jpegs and 72dpi VTT sized jpegs

Heroic Maps

Hi, I just joined here - are all maps only available as PDF's? I'm looking for HD pics...

René Bargisen

The maps aren't available for download in the posts themselves. We send you that month's download links to your Patreon inbox, along with the link to the Year 1 vault. So, you won't find the map downloads in those posts anyway :)

Heroic Maps

Is there a way to filter the posts and emails to "maps only please"? Not everyone has time or wants to go through reviews or polls or other non-map related material.

Harri

Thanks, will have a look.

Kevin Flynn

I'm not going to complain if Heroic Maps throw out some Wild West Maps as I'm planning to run some Savage Worlds Deadlands, but I did managed to find some on theme maps and tokens searching for 'Western' on Roll20's marketplace, and a few pieces on DTRPG. Searching for deadlands/wild west was less successful.

Dresdon

Starting a Deadlands game soon, Wild Weird West maps?

Kevin Flynn

I hope my upgrading to the sci fi tier didn't erase how long I have been a supporter.

Robert Miller

Just wanted to say I'm really loving these Christmas sale maps in the giant Frostdelve megadungeon series...awesome job Joe & Sarah!

Rob Leonard

Any word on whether you will ever do any sci-fi alternates?

Chris Skuller

I agree. Post-Apocalyptic themes are what I am always most hoping to see on the Sci-fi tier. I love all of it, but I am most likely to get use out of the post apocalyptic maps

Lawrence Townsend

Ever Heard of "Gaslands" its a MadMax type wargame, I would love to see some post-apocalyptic wasteland, race track, bartertown, etc to match Thunderarena and make it like a set (like you just did with 9 lvls of hell), dont have to conect, just follow the scheme, anyways, just an idea.

Jose Ortiz

Fixed!

Heroic Maps

Todd Torkelson

Hi guys,

Todd Torkelson

Yeah, we're working through the back-catalogue of any maps older than a year and adding them onto Drivethru, so eventually the entire Patreon collection will be on there. However, it'll still be better value for Patrons to pick up a previous Reward Bundle (containing several maps), unless you really only want a particular map. You can see details of how to purchase previous Reward Bundles in the FAQ linked in this post :)

Heroic Maps

Hey Guys, ive recognized that you've started to push old patreon maps to drivethru like The Weary Wyrm, Arcane Library, Fort Pending, etc. Is there a plan to publish more of the old maps to drivethru, cause i really want them all :D

Fabian Truxius

Thank you Manuel.

Jim Lawhon

You can get maps from previous months - there are instructions in the FAQ: https://www.patreon.com/heroicmaps/posts?tag=FAQ (under the heading "Can I get copies of the maps for the months I wasn't a patron?")

Manuel Gebhard

Did not see the catalog earlier. Just went through and found this awesome map from August 2018: Skull Gorge. Is there any way to get this map now? I did not found it on DriveThroughRPG and its for over 1 year now. Please put this map on Drivethrough!!!
