Cover Song #4: ANGEL FROM MONTGOMERY
Added 2021-04-13 20:00:03 +0000 UTCIn September 2018, I was lucky enough to be invited to a GRAMMY event here in Nashville called 'Up Close & Personal with John Prine & Bill Murray'. Yep. It was as incredible as it sounds. There were no more than 75 people in the studio to witness an intimate conversation between Prine & Murray. The room was filled with laughter, and grounded in the calm, gentle nature of John Prine. He played a few songs, shared stories and imparted the wisdom that only he could. I'll never forget that experience.
The loss of John Prine in 2020 absolutely shook the music industry. I'd never personally met John myself but knowing that he suffered at all left me with a heavy sadness. He was such a kind soul and he brought so much good to the world. His wife Fiona is a strong, courageous woman and activist. She accepted two GRAMMYS on John's behalf this year. John's spirit is sure to live on in his music.
