August's MotM Preview - The Olive Jug Tavern

Hey everyone,

Time for the preview! This time we're off to warmer climes and this charming little tavern! We've done the variants too - night time, bleak and foggy

Alt-Version

We want to hear your suggestions for the alt-version of this map. It could be a different environment, or perhaps the building is used for something else. Put your suggestions in the comments and we'll create a poll of our favourites :)

If it's not too late, this could be an effective template for a subtle submarine base. Like, keep the shape of the building be the same, but have the center garden and the area north of the building be a waterway that leads out of a port. Sorry if I am not making sense but I think you get the gist lol. Trying to think of something that your scarlet marpenoth map could "attach" to between missions.

Jimmy the Barkeep

Bathhouse with a central pool surrounded by columns?

Brian Guerrero

Disrepair, or under siege.

David Brideau

A City Saw Mill overseed by gnomes. A part of the building produces wheels for chariots.

René Bargisen

This could make a nice little schoolhouse, with a protected yard for the students. Or, there could be a version of the tavern that is ablaze! Save the patrons!

Keith Curtis

Post barfight alt please.

How about a local administrative center? The pillared hall could be a council room and private office, the central portion might have counters for bureaucratic paperwork (permitting, licenses, the paying of fines, and such that adventurers might need), and the sunken chamber could be a small jail where drunks and rabblerousers sleep it off.

Emily

Since it is horseshoe shaped, it could be a stables. Horseshoe stables!

Robert Cater

I like the idea of a chapterhouse for an elite and secret organization. The building appears to be a low traffic business but has a secret entrance where the meetings take place - or a secret gambling hall.

Brandon Forrey

For an alt-version, maybe a slightly more ancient Greco-Roman version would be nice; from the preview it doesn't quite look that ancient (looks more medieval). It could be cool to have variations of the same tavern through the ages, maybe beginning with the ancient Greco-Roman one, and then going on to a medieval one and then an industrial age/modern taverna.
