November's MotM & Variants - Churches & Chapels!
Added 2024-10-08 18:40:13 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Something a little different this time.
We've wanted to add more small churches and chapels to our catalogue for ages. They're really useful locations, and having a variety of them to hand is really useful.
So, we decided to make four of them! Instead of having a MotM and then three variants of it (so four maps in total), we've just made 4 small churches/temples/chapels. (all have exterior views too) Should be useful, eh?
Alt-Version
So, time for you to suggest alt-versions. Now, obviously there's four different maps, so we're flexible with suggestions. You might have an idea for a specific church to change, or you might have a general change to all of them. We'll gauge how viable the ideas are, and if they can be applied to all of them without creating a huge mountain of work! But, don't let that get in the way of your ideas- go for it!

For rural temple: Under siege. A bell tower or aviary would be cool. For Urban, I like a temple of deranged cultists!

2024-10-09 13:28:56 +0000 UTCI’d like to see a ruined variant of an urban church that has been corrupted by ooze and mold. An abandoned wilderness church in a feywild setting would be cool.

2024-10-08 23:44:51 +0000 UTCI'd like to see the same buildings in different environments such as hell, shadowfell, feywild, underwater, etc...

2024-10-08 23:29:55 +0000 UTCIt would be interesting to see a temple that serves a pantheon with alcoves to the individual gods - possibly one that serves a small community on the edges of civilisation... ... or maybe a temple devoted to a dark god with the altar a blood-soaked sacrificial stone with shackles

2024-10-08 19:56:24 +0000 UTCI second or third the defiled idea -- I need something like this for the campaign I'm running right now. I have some temple maps that are clearly for good deities, and some clearly for evil deities, but nothing that looks like a good temple that has been taken over by an evil cult. Preferably something in a wasteland/ruins setting, as the temple was taken over after demons overran the area.

2024-10-08 19:51:41 +0000 UTCI’d go with some shrines in natural - but not fantastical - settings. Something made from intertwined trees, a shrine in a shallow cave or overhang, something simple in the tide pools, a few benches and a pulpit under a big tree on the roadside, a revival tent.

2024-10-08 19:17:32 +0000 UTCLovely maps. The last one makes me think of old english/saxon churches. A roman or early gothic chapel in the center of its cematary with a low stone wall around with its cute covered gate. Something like that : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luss_Parish_Church And just at the end of the village with cottages on one side of the map ? Maybe a river/lake beach on the other side ? I'd love to have a map like that for dark ages games with raids in scottish villages.
