Oh, Life.

So, as you may recall, my father recently had kidney surgery, which we had hoped would be the last of a string of medical adventures which began with his wrist marrying a sidewalk. And we were in the home stretch! He seemed to be on the mend!
Then he got an infection. A lingering side effect of the operation. Not a super serious one! He’ll be okay, but it demanded attention and more hospital time. We soldiered through. Another little emergency conquered! Well, turns out he’s got anemia too. But that’s manageable. Few more items on his pill chart. So it’s time to relax now, right? Right??
The very next day my mother has a bad fall and breaks her hip. Technically, the “ball” part of the femur that fits into the pelvis. Back to the hospital. Back to waiting rooms. Back to surgery. Therapy. Time. Money. So on. That’s where we are now, and I’m starting to wonder when it’ll be my turn to break something.
Still, hey, things are looking up! Her injury could have been MUCH worse, and she’s in fairly good spirits, all things considered. But I wanted to mention this to all of you hanging in there while my work on the Omnibus is stalled, waiting for me to provide some hint of progress on this or that. This is that.
So, as always, thank you all for your continued patience and support. We're doing alright. And if you’re wondering about the picture, someone threw a rock at Zandra’s head. He was aiming for a crow that stole his sandwich. It was a bad week for him.
It got worse.
