Ugh. Was that the best thing to call this picture? Well, it's Doyenne and Black Betty about two seconds from tearing the room apart. Don't ask me who comes out on top.
And tearing things apart seems like a nice segue back to reality, as it's certainly been a Hell of a month here in America. You may have noticed, I write and draw women as protagonists far more often than men, and it cuts me to know that in about half of the country I love their reproductive organs would now be considered the property of small governments run by small people. Meanwhile, schools in certain states are taking down rainbows and hiding pictures of same-sex couples, because venal politicians are eager to capitalize on hate and fear. And don't get me started on the folks currently vilifying a muppet because he got vaccinated! There's a movement here to ignore the will of the people and undo generations of hard-won progress, and I don't know how much heartache will happen before the damage is undone. As usual I'll encourage you to take a look at the charities listed below and offer a hand here and there, if possible.
But getting back to art, I have a confession to make. I should be putting most of my time and energy into readying Witch Warp before the year ends (hopefully), but I've been distracted by a little passion project. I just hope you don't have anything against fan comics. I never do that sort of thing, but Amphibia really captured my heart, and I couldn't resist putting something down on paper. I'm trying to think of it as practice for the next comic, which (again, hopefully) should be Witch Warp. I just wanted to make sure we're on the same page so you won't be caught off guard when I eventually post this silly thing. You deserve to know the horrible truth.
Now, since the world is still out there, here are those charities. No pressure, but it might make a difference to someone!
