Aaah thank you Jordan ☺️ It’s so nice to feel like myself again! And I like to think my fig lives on as well 🥲 He was a mighty plant. I have 11 total! 8 in my living room (2 you can’t see from my camera angle) and 3 in my bedroom! Most of them are named after cats I’ve owned or lived with 🤣 But my fiddle leaf fig’s name was Tall Boi (cause… he was tall 🙃). If I ever get one again he shall be named Fiddle Leaf Sprig for obvious reasons ^ v ^ HAHAHA it WAS random as hell to see Marcy as Fix it Felix! Maybe that was my problem with it. Elisa pointed out too that the shipment of “imported Newtopian marble” arriving overnight was also a little ludicrous considering we spent half a season getting to Newtopia ourselves 😂 But I couldn’t agree more that any episode Marcy’s in is just an absolute delight. oh my gosh HOW did I not get the Iron Giant references in this!? I’m honestly ashamed. Like you said- even the cannonball feels like a direct nod! Let’s just hope Frobo doesn’t meet the Iron Giant’s fate 🥲 I will lose it fr Lmaooo I don’t want my time back, friend! Loved reading your thoughts 🧐 I feel like we’re all onto something in our predictions but part of me likes that this lore has been kept so locked down for so long into the show. Oh man I feel the same way about Marcy. Even if New Wartwood wasn’t my favorite, every episode she’s in is honestly such a delight. And I do appreciate that the show stayed true to her logical personality. It made perfect sense how she approached each character individually even if we saw them respond more collectively. I just finished watching the new season of Love on the Spectrum (Have you seen that show? Any thoughts?), so I couldn’t tell if I was seeing Marcy with a touch of autism because of that or if because she was actually written that way? So I’m glad I’m not the only one. !!!!! Tim!!! Always coming in hot with the predictions my dude! Okay if this ISN’T Frobo’s backstory now, I’m going to be mad 😂 Thank you so much ☺️ I’m relieved to be feeling better too. The occasional illness is just inevitable with my job, but it’s always nice when I start feeling like myself again! I can see quite a few in the back there actually, how many plants do you have? Also do you give them names? I had names for my cacti back in the day, not that I could recall them to you now😂 I do agree the second part was a lot better this week, BUTTT- I am a huuuge Marcy stan at this point so I was insanely chuffed to see she was gonna be sticking around Wartwood for a while!!🔥 Seeing Marcy like a kid on Christmas over the smallest of details of Amphibia, it warms my heart dude she’s so in her element in this world! On your point about Marcy’s insane abilities, I think the suspension of disbelief still has to sit within the boundaries of the world you’ve created! Marcy’s just a regular old human, so seeing her turn into Fix it Felix all of a sudden was random as hell🤣🤣 I wouldn’t feel too bad about calling that out mate honestly😂 I also agree with your thoughts about the townspeople losing their individuality for the sake of Marcy’s arc in the episode! I still had a lot of fun with this one though, as I always do with this show! My favourite part of the first episode was when Marcy knocked the statue over and that one frog was like “the towns founder whose name I don’t know!!!😡”🤣🤣 The parallels with the B story and The Iron Giant were so cool and made me so frickin happy, honestly made my week!!💗 The sideways blinking, getting taught how to speak, the kid stopping the robot from attacking the town and trying to show everyone that it’s good! Even the huge cannon ball and flood scene felt like a direct reference! I love that movie so damn much (as I’m sure I’ve mentioned😂) so any time I’m reminded of it, it’s smiles all round from me😁✨ This robot was JUST as cute too, I dieddd when they said Polly’s name😭 It’s crazy though, I can’t believe we just gained a new member of Plantar family just like that, really thought the robot was gonna be bad news, so it’s a pleasant surprise! THAT LAUGH THOUGH🤣 best part!😂 I loved that callback to one of the first episodes when Marcy bought those Tomato seeds and Hop Pop was like “I wouldn’t recommend it”🤣🤣 Those Mario-style carnivorous plants were not for the faint hearted lol! MarMar would have a trick up her sleeve to tame those tomato plants actually, I say leave her be!😅 As for predictionsss, I’ve been thinking about how the king said “we’ll have our revenge” to that alien in his basement. What ifff…. Amphibia is actually earth, millions of years in the future, after years of nuclear fallout completely wiping out humanity, the wildlife that remained mutated and frogs became the dominant species🤣 nah fr though, I think whoever wronged the king and his 1000 eyed friend had something to do with the music box? Maybe they were a genius and were forced to create it for destructive purposes, maybe they made it into a teleportation device so it could be sent away to keep Amphibia safe….? I just don’t see how these three human girls could’ve been predicted by anyone in Amphibia, like the King had chess pieces of all 3 of them (if I’m not mistaken) before even meeting them?? And these temples being catered to each girl? Somehow these three turning up in Amphibia was prophesied, like how could they have known Anne was gonna steal this box and open it with her two friends present too? Maybe Amphibia is a future of earth, the box was sent back in time to show these girls the future? idk bro I’m going insane and I need more information😂 I’m sorry you won’t get any of that time back reading those predictions🤣 Last but certainly not least, ITS A BUG!!!🤣🤣🤣 I cannot believe in the VERY NEXT episode they set you up with a prime opportunity like that dude! Unreal! I was equal parts dying and also just like “NO ******* WAY!!!”🤣🤣 THAT made my week actually👌😂 This was suchhh a fun reaction mate, thanks as always for the laughs and the good times! Makes a hell of a difference let me tell you!✨

I thought New Wartwood was an ok episode, though not great. But that's probably because I like Marcy so anything that has lots of her in it is good with me. I do agree that it might have been better if we saw more 1 on 1 interactions with other characters who may vibe more with her. I thought it was really interesting how she approached getting people to like her. She saw it as more of a logic puzzle to solve than one based on understanding how and why people act and think. I don't necessarily want to harp on the neurodivergence aspect a ton, but it's a topic that's near and dear, so it happens. That whole thing actually makes me wonder if Marcy might be on autism spectrum as well. People with ASD can sometimes have difficulties with cognitive empathy so it would make sense that she might approach that situation from that perspective. I will say this...one thing Amphibia always delivers, even in so-so episodes, is good one-liners. "I, for one, refuse to learn anything from this!" "Meet Mayor Toadstool. He's like if the Monopoly Man had a baby with a piece of fried chicken" "...That better be a compliment, Boonchuy" 🤣 Friend or Frobo was definitely a better episode. Gotta wonder exactly what Frobo's deal is though. The fact that he's more or less a child who has to learn things as if it's all brand new makes me wonder if he was an old robot that got his memory wiped or lost his programming. He clearly has attack capabilities, so maybe he was something much more sinister before? Could that resurface again? For some reason those frog cops absolutely cracked me up. "GIANT OCTOPUS! Case closed!" 🤣 Last but not least, very glad you're feeling better.

Yay we're back in Amphibia baby I'm so happy. Glad you're feeling better, not gonna lie tho that sick/post-sickness Alycia voice is still doing it for me lol. 😊 I just light up every time I see Marcy she's so adorable and I gotta say the girl does rock a suit! To be honest tho I had the EXACT same problems with this first episode that you did, and also partially with the second episode. Like you said suspension of disbelief is a fickle mistress sometimes and you just can't choose what takes you out of it and what doesn't, there's a billion things in this series and also cartoons in general that are totally fine but for some reason importing 7 billion tons of newtopian marble overnight AND building the whole town somehow is where I drew the line 🤣 Also on the second episode when Frobo jumped in the fountain I said out loud "Suuuure that 1 foot of water in the fountain is enough to cause a tsunami that devastates the town somehow...but okaaay"...but on the other hand for SOME reason at the end of the episode SEEING Marcy rebuild everyone's houses in like 5 seconds somehow seemed totally fine. 😅 I can't put my finger on it exactly but SOMEHOW seeing it happen onscreen makes it more acceptable somehow than when unbelievable things happen offscreen...although it didn't work for the fountain splash for some reason so *shrug* Come to think of it for the building the town over night part I think what took me out of it was more the transportation issue than the actual building tho especially since this has been a series where many an episode revolved around lengthy travel times through Amphibia so longer travel times in this world kinda felt established and stuff so yeah I think that's probably what did it for me in this instance. Oh btw every time I watch that first episode when Marcy starts mixing potions together to fix the statue she broke I do my best Rick voice from when they were inside the car battery and his "counterpart" starts crafting stuff on the cave opposite of his going "What's he doing? What's he crafting? I CAN CRAFT STUFF TOO PAL!" I just can't help myself somehow that scene just triggers that in me reflexively lol I don't think I could stop it if I tried 😅🤷‍♀️ I had the same reaction to the meta joke about Sprig's voice that you did but I did have the luxury of pausing to look up if his voice actor changed because it felt like he didn't and his voice wasn't remotely as different as when Gus' voice actor's voice dropped where it was WAAAY more apparent. Still two cute episodes but on the grand scale of things especially now in the latter half of season 2 where things are heating up considerably they definitely aren't the strongest.
