Meet Na'Krasha [preview]
Added 2023-02-06 18:00:03 +0000 UTCHey friends! YouTube is starting to monetize Shorts in February, which is great news, because I've enjoyed making Shorts like my "Conversations with my Dice" and "Mermaid Girlfriend," but it was difficult to justify the time they required when they weren't earning any money. This means that you'll be seeing a lot more Shorts from me this year! I'm hoping to do one to two Shorts a week in addition to my full length videos, since Shorts can be much more easily batched — in the time it takes me to make one full-length video, I can usually make 4-6 Shorts. (That'll also mean that the weeks when I don't make a full length video will hopefully feel less empty!)
I have a bunch of ideas for new Shorts series, but one of them is to create short videos introducing my NPCs. At this point I've developed a whole library of characters, but all of them are introduced and developed in such a weird combination of places and ways, it can be hard for new folks to learn about them. My goal with these Shorts is to compile a bunch of quick, simple introductions that point viewers to where they can learn more about the character if they want to.
After putting this first one together, I realized this was the perfect type of video to outsource to a video editor I've been in conversation with, since it's so graphics-heavy. We're planning to launch this series in early March, and this particular video will look a bit different (more polished, hopefully!) in its final form, but here's a little sneak preview of what this series is going to be like. I've already filmed Na'Krasha, Augury, Wisteria, Nymwen, and Elliwyn, who will be the first batch of NPCs I cover.
Hope you like it!

My party actually recruited her by accident, in Saltmarsh. They'd asked the Council if there was any kind of work-release option for sailors in the prison, since they don't really have much in the way of funds yet to hire anyone to replace lost crew, and having convicted smugglers put in some honest work in return for three hots and a cot instead of taking up space in the cells until they can be shuffled off as galley rowers for the Royal Navy sounded like a good deal to basically everyone involved. She was sent by the Watch-Captain to make sure the parolees actually keep their side of the arrangement instead of escaping in a skiff in the middle of the night. She was NOT happy about this, until she found out they had hired Ellie as the shipboard medic, because the only other healer in the party is the Paladin.
