Vigil - concept art

For the next 60 days I'll be working on Vigil, my new comic. (I changed the name from Harpy vs demon) The deadline is the 17th of July. I did some calculations while setting up my planning. The comic will be approximately 36 pages long (think of those Sunmakers slides) and I'll have to finish around 20 panels/4 pages per week. This is going to be the hardest crunch I've ever done. I hope my drawing arm survives the journey.

Today I made a very rough storyboard of the entire comic. I ended up with exactly 180 panels. Some frames are likely to be trimmed along the way but I think it's a fairly accurate estimate. Then I made a plan of action and then I started with character art. I sketched the cast last week traditionally so I just had to make the final. I had hoped to finish the ref of the villain, a monstrous Golem too, ( I also changed it from being a demon) but I ran out of time. Finally, I also made the title art. Quite a productive day, all in all.

I'll probably be uploading on Patreon several times a week from now on! Hope you'll enjoy the flood of content. It might give you an idea of how much I actually work during a week. I've never updated my Patreon 'in real time' before. I always had a stack ready and uploaded it gradually.
