Wip- The Glisterpass

This gem encrusted ravine leads north to cold fortlands of Ba-Na

One of the illustrations I've been working on. I have been posting online recently in an attempt to gain attention for a friend's fundraiser. That's sorta what sparked this worldbuilding book idea, really.

Taking a step farther back, I recently picked up the rulebook for the ttrpg game Knave 2e. I still haven't played it , but the simplicity of the rules and the sheer number of fairly broad tables really got my imagination going. I started working on this map using the terrain features table. I would roll a d6 and if a 1 came up I would do water, otherwise I rolled d% to see what feature I would use. For each feature I rolled a d6 to see how many connected hexes it took up. After figuring out what geographic features were where, I placed villages, towns and a city in similar fashion. Sorta procedural, you know?

Also been using the tables to come up with a slew of monsters, people and historical figures as well. Now that I have a handful of them, I can explore how they all might interact in the world.

Hoton, the Tiger Demon (above)

I never really intended for this all to work together- the pictures i've been posting, this map etc. but I think it's fun to figure out how it all functions

I do believe it will all make for an interesting project!

Just taking a look at your map I would love to play although I have never heard of the rules... I guess I will have to take a look now :) Your art allways inspires me to draw more again/ be creative more again. Love all the drawings in this post. The city scape really makes me want to be there right now.
