The Future of Forgotten

Hello everyone.

As some of you have already noticed, there has been some discussion on the latest chapter on RR. Some of the things voiced there have also been mentioned by a few of you so I am going to make some changes in hopes that it will result in a better story. This post serves to detail these changes and what I am trying to achieve with them.

First up, an important note.

• The next chapter will likely not come out on Monday as I have an exam that day.
• Once the final chapter of Book 4 has been posted here, I will queue all remaining chapters of Book 4 on RR/SH to release at one a day until they are done, at which point the story will go on hiatus on both those sites. It will continue on Patreon with some slight tweaks. I am simply taking a break from posting there as I need a break from that site. Writing after looking at the comments has been harder than it should so I am taking measures to mitigate that. Is it stupid? Probably. Will it help? Also probably.

Now for the changes of the story itself:

• The 4 day chapter cycle will likely be culled in favour of chapters with more depth and varying PoV’s to help bring the plot along a little faster. For example, in Book 5: Overture (WIP) there will be intrigue between the various countries, empires, and noble houses following the events at the end of Book 4 that you can actually see. That means you will see Laelia running the Church of the All-Mother and the challenges that brings with it. I will try to keep the current pace but will not force myself to finish chapters every 4 days like I do now.
• Side Stories will remain a thing at two a month and will continue to fill in the background for characters that you already know about or deal with characters/events that are not immediately relevant to the current plot of the main story. No changes there.
• In order to move Aperio along a little faster on her journey to recovery, we will dive a bit deeper into her head and try to figure things out. How that looks can be seen in the last chapter and in the one that will end Book 4. It will be weird and whack and maybe give you a headache. She is not a mortal and, while she might think and act like one because of her past, her mind does not work like that of one. I have some personal issues with some of the topics this will lead us to, but I will try my best to portray them adequately without making you want to run away.
