The design was inspired by this photo, where sweet baby Sev (the yellow-headed vulture) looks a lot like a heart.
It's official, the baby vulture's name is Sev, short for Severus! Thank you to everyone who voted - the winner of the name poll was Fawkes - which I was going to use until friends kindly pointed out that my name is Fox, so saying 'Hi, I am Fox and this is my vulture Fawkes' is terribly confusing. Quite an oversight when just looking at the written word! I had to go to the runners up, then, which was a tie between Viktor and Severus.
When I picked him up, I thought for sure his name would be Loki - but his personality just doesn't fit that weighty title. Sev is a shy, thoughtful, incredibly smart bird with a little streak of temper if he doesn't get his way. With his big hooked 'nose' and brooding appearance, I think it fits him perfectly :)

Proceeds from shirt sales will go to helping fund getting my conservation education programs, "Spectacular Scavengers" and "Beauty is more than Skin Deep" into more local schools. It will also help with my efforts with wildlife rehabilitation - I will be attending a hands-on continuing training conference later this month.
