OK so this is going to be quite a long post to be honest. If you read it all then you will know basically everything that I have been up to since my last post. But to try to have a bit of a bulletpoint thing of what I will be covering:
1. What progress has been done on the next MH update?
2. Why has there been no news or info for such a long time?
3. What did I do during this whole time?
4. Plans for going forward.
So onto the first topic:
As I have said before this update is going to take awhile as it is needs an entire new town, and multiple new areas created for it.
During the beginning of the game I mostly just used premade maps and edited them a bit here and there to try to give a feel for what I was going for but really not much of it was made from scratch.
I originally never had any plans for making maps from scratch, but after a mapper joined up with me and I promised the house remodel thing, I really liked the idea of making maps from scratch, then that person just ghosted me so I had to learn how to make it all myself. Which I think I did a pretty alright job at that. No where near as good as a professional 3D modeler could do but the best I could using the tools that I knew how to use. So that means going forward all maps will be made custom. which takes FOREVER! I can usually make around a room per 8 hours of work. I am not sure how will that translates to making a city map. But I was able to get a basic model for the Migurd Village done in a day. But I REALLY done like it. I can not figure out how to make proper hills and rocks and stuff like that. So I basically just looked at an image of what one of the houses looked like. Tried to find a model for a turtle shell, just the shell part, realized that model does not exist in the mods I have, looked for multiple hours online and still couldn't find one said FUCK IT a giant clam shell gives the same vibes so I'll use that. Tried taking a Sand pile and making it massive to act like a sand hill realized that plan wouldn't work as I could not link 2 of those together properly to give a top of the hill vibe (Rokari's house is meant to be at the top of a hill if you didn't know....)
I then built the house underneath the clam shell idea and was like damn that looks like shit... but kinda close.... so fuck it for now move on to something else. I then grabbed a premade desert map threw a bunch of those houses around it and some premade shack models and was like fuck it for now that works, but I will want to come back and fix it at some point. But since for this update the Village area itself isn't going to be featured much it doesn't matter to much.
Currently my only planned interactions for inside village itself is the player seeing some migurds doing their little popping telepathic thing off in the distance while making their way to Rokari's house while carrying...um spoilers there but carrying someone.... The vast majority of the time spent in this update will be in the city or in Rokari's house itself. The village will only be a transitional map that doesn't matter too much right now.
The same for the battlefield map, which is why I haven't started that yet. So here is my todo list thing for the maps I need to make for the update and where I am on them.
Maps I need to make for the new update:
Teleport Area Forest - Done - Feb 3rd 2025
Teleport Area Desert - Done - Feb 4th 2025
War Torn battle area - Not Started
Rokary Town - Done - Feb 5th 2025
Inside of Rokary's House - Done - Feb 6th 2025
Town Area to walk through and add some NPCs in.
(Needs to be rather large with alleys, shops, merchants) - This area is started But no where near done as it is a HUGE area. Needs to be around 3-4x of the last city map area.
Atofe's Castle (Need an exterior + a few navigational interior maps + Boss Room Map) - Not started
Obviously after the maps I need to actually get the images and put characters in places and code and all that so making the maps is LITERALLY only step 1.
But it is the most time consuming step for me. I hope to have these all done in the next week, with (Ambitious) hopes of having them done sometime this weekend, which is probably impossible to do unless I revert back to the working 20 hours a day schedule I had before...
Though I do have plans on using some of the premade cities maps that are in the game for certain areas of the town. To be honest it is kinda difficult to try to explain how the idea would work.... BUT lets try and you all can let me know if it made sense.
So basically all of the moveable areas in the game are essentially first person perspective camera angles that I save so I can go back to them, I then put a model in front of the camera and pose them moving them and the camera around to give an idea of movement. Make sense?
So there are some premade city maps that bits and pieces of them give a vibe of what I am going for so I feel like I can do a bit of cheating and have some areas like the back alleys, dock, shops, and market area just be made from premade maps and kinda stitch it all together.
Kinda like how the main city in the first part of the game is actually 3 different city maps stuck together and only uses a couple of spots from each city map. Does that make sense? Point is I can get the entire city map done in a day or 2 that way or around a 2 weeks if I make it from scratch...
One of the biggest issues I am going to be facing while making this next update is my broken keyboard. (Yea it's still broken...) Around 25% of the keys on my keyboard don't work on the first press and since one of the keys that almost NEVER works is the left arrow key I can't just go back and ix thingsI instead have to delete the sentence and retype it, making things like even this post taking far too long, and I know the main part of making the game the coding part is going to SUCK because of it. But it is what it is gotta move on and keep working on it.
SO now onto the 2nd point of this post. Why haven't I posted any updates in such a long time? To be honest it is a combination of things. At first it was burn out. That hit me hard and fast, I was taking that break to work on finding a job, which I was never able to do by the way. Then I was ashamed that I had not posted in so long.
After that I was upset with myself, then I told myself well I need to take some time away from it anyways to cure the burn out. And I will come back feeling better.
So after 2 weeks of not really doing too much my nephew wanted to play Black Ops 6 with me, since it had just come out he bought it for me for my birthday. I then told myself well once I get the Nebula camo (The top weapon camo in the Zombies mode) Then I will go back to working on MH.
Finished that. Then it was Once I hit Prestige Master I go back to working on it.... Did that, Went and checked the f95zone comments and saw a bunch of rude and mean comments which made me even more demotivated. So I changed it to when I get the Dark Matter Camo maybe then I will go back to it.Finished that by the end of November.... I still kept having those comments in my head. For the record to this day I still have not went back to f95zone to see what has been posted since. Like do you have any idea that when you go out of your way to open and honest with everyone. To be told "Your a Liar, you're just like all the other Devs, money hungry lazy and a piece of shit"
Like I was busting my ass DAILY and thats how people felt about me.... What the fuck is the point in any of this then...? So I just took some more time off. There were a few days here and there that I tried to get back to work.
But I do have severe anxiety and depression issues so it is difficult for me sometimes to even get motivated. But I tried mapping things here and there, never anything worth keeping at all, but still everytime I attempted it I kept thinking about those comments.
Which made me want to stop. This carried on throughout all of December. I debated just shutting everything down permanently but I remembered the fact that I haven't finished Her Fall yet. I made a commitment to complete that game in full. And I damn well will. Even if everyone hates it I don't care I always keep my word.
So why am I not working on that game instead? Honestly because it would be over to quickly, and I am trying to get myself to stay motivated again like I used to be. So after that, in January I had no interest in working on either game yet, I started just playing mobile games like a lot. Like A LOT A LOT.
I made 2 more free to play alt accounts for Bleach Brave Souls, I started playing Solo Leveling Arise again, and made a new alt account for it. I was still playing Eversoul, and Master of Garden off and on depending on how I felt that day. Depression fucking sucks idk if any of you struggle with it.
But combined with Anxiety its a bitch. Basically your too depressed to be motivated but when you want to be motivated to too anxious about what people will think that you lock up and freeze. So after all of that what made me decide to give this a try again? I got to the point that I was so bored of gaming,like the new zombies map came out I played it twice was like... well this sucks.. I then went on to play Car Mechanic Simulator for 10 hours a day and that was when I realized.... If I have all of my alt accounts on games planned out that I have 10 hours a day left over where I am doing literally nothing but watching youtube while I play a fucking mechanics simulator I can at least do something productive, seeing as how I still have yet to find a job, I may as well at least do something productive with that time, which is when I was like well..... I can give it a try? And then anxiety clamped down on me as soon as got to the part where I would make a post on patreon. To let people know I was working on it again.
Which is why I have been working on it for the last 3 days without telling anyone. It took me 3 days to work up the guts to even type this out. Which for the record I am tying out in a .txt document on my VS Code program because I still have not worked up the guts to even open up patreon yet because I am stressing that I will see comments from upset people.
As you can see the f95zone thing fucked me up a bit. To be honest I don't know if I will be posting anything there for a bit.
OK so I think that about covers points 2 and 3. Why I havent said anything and what I have been up to.
No onto what's Next? When should you expect an update? and all of that.
Well let's see how this post goes first. Because I have a few options available to me at the moment. I can A. Just buckle down and get this new town and castle area finished then start getting the images and start coding it all right away. And quite possibly have the big update out before the end of february.
OR I can make a patch that only adds some new positions/remade scenes (That is still bugging me that those are not done yet.) But that would only take me realistically a couple of days to make that update. Since I already have most of the code there it would just be adding new code for new positions. The remade stuff would just be swapping images and video files. OR I can just focus on writing the story for the last 2 updates for Her Fall and spend 2 weeks finishing that game completely. That is something I need to figure out for myself. But my current plan is to get the maps done for at least the first part of the demon continent.
While I am getting that done I am also going to be taking in any feedback you want to give me on here. Then making a decision based on that. Though I do plan on doing a few scenes for the patrons here soon, because I feel like a dick for not making those in so long.
So now I will send some images of the maps I have done over the last 3 days, and some ideas for premade map area ideas I can use for external locations for the city.

Migurd Village - BETA NEEDS TO LOOK BETTER BEFORE I ACTUALLY PUT IT IN THE GAME!!! I need to add some walls, fences, remove some of the buildings to free up space, and make a farmland type of gardening area. But this is what I have for it so far.
Overview of Rokari's House - This is what I spent 10 hours on today. I actually like how this turned out. Apparently I am better at interiors, than Exterior maps...
