Excel LADZ - 2024-25 European Football Model!
Added 2024-08-18 11:49:25 +0000 UTC
G'day lads! Attached to this post is the 'Excel LADZ - 2024-25 European Football Model'. This model covers the EPL, LaLiga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga! The model calculates an xG figure for a potential matchup, and then uses the Poisson Probability Distribution to find probabilities for the:
Moneyline
Over/Under Goals
Exact Goals
Double Chance
Win/Draw/Win
How-to-Use
As soon as you open the file lads, go to the 'Data' tab and select the "Refresh All" icon. This will update the spreadsheet's connection with Football Reference and bring in the newest stats ๐ฅ
To select a matchup, first select the league from the dropdown list in the cell A3 of the "Dashboard" worksheet. Then, select your two teams in cells G1 & G3 ๐
Please let me know if you have anymore questions lads! I'll drop an article detailing the slight changes I've made to this model to make it better in the next week or so ๐
Hello boy, a question why you use the value of 10% for the house

Hi Will, welcome ๐ฅ That's most unusual, however there are some steps to try to get to the bottom of the problem. Firstly, you may see there are two files attached to the post. I recommend trying to Download the 'Legacy' version and refreshing that data. There also may be a horizontal, yellow bar across the top of the spreadsheet when you first open the model warning that 'External Data Connections have been disabled'. If that occurs, you must select the "Enable All" beside it. This will allow Excel to grab data from the website Football Reference - where this model pulls its data from. If those two things don't work, please send me a screenshot of your problem ๐ You can message me via the discord group or email at: ladz.excel@gmail.com. Of course, if we still can't get to the bottom of your problem, I can offer you a full refund ๐ Please let me know if any of this helped lad!

Do you have any videos how we can create this type of model from scratch?

Hi mate, Borussia Mรถnchengladbach are known as 'Gladbach' by the model. As all the data comes from the website Football Reference, whatever they label the teams is what they appear as in the model ๐ I've just fixed a tiny formula error relating to something else in the model, so I suggest re-downloading the model lad ๐

Thanks Lad, yes, an uncut video showing you adding a league. No need for it to be polished. I think that would be clearer than a written explanation.

Hi lad, I'm glad you like it ๐ฅ Yes, apologies for that. Perhaps in the next week I can do an "uncut" video of me adding a league like the Championship to this file. Although my explanations might not be as polished as in a YouTube video, it may provide a better insight into the 'workings' of the model and my thoughts behind it. Would you prefer that, or a rigorous written explanation instead lad? Let me know what you think ๐

This is great, Lad, thank you. Though I hope you'll be showing us how we can add our own leagues to this too. I have been asking for this for quite some time....
