Added 2023-08-15 12:28:29 +0000 UTCSee my last four releases? Dip dip dip dip. I have no idea at this point what is going on. All my other numbers are up across the board except listen to this. Subs to new viewers on the latest video is 98% subs and 2% new viewers. That’s just completely impossible number one. And the video that 2% came from? A football game recap video. I’m not even joking. Youtube is recommending my videos to channels who viewers would have 0% interest in the subject matter. You know when you see those “how did i end up here?” comments all over youtube? Yeah, now I know why. Hopefully this mess ends soon. Youtube LOVES to pull the rug out from their best creators and leave them in peril as to what the future holds. That’s why this Patreon is so important to me. Thanks everyone!

I also don't fall for the spiel that the 'algorithm is completely automated' so there is nothing they can do. They want you to think that while they are artificially boosting their guys. They can, on a whim, adjust a dynamic variable in the algorithm to either boost or sink the popularity of anyone. I also do not use YouTube for subscribers or notifications. Instead I use a software called FreeTube which localizes all of my youtube subscriptions. This way I cannot be suspiciously unsubscribed from anyone and I'm not bombarded with their garbage recommendations. I hope it get's fixed but If not I'll still be a loyal patron either way.

By the way I loved those videos.

I'm dreading the day it gets "acquired" by some tech giant and rolled into their "ecosystem" like a colossal dung beetle rolling everything into its massive ball of shit.

He thinks it was her poster from back in the day showing her body or her possible bathing suit on a mannequin showing mannequin boobs. Even reached out. So it’s like the cooked meat thing. He got demonetized from the original video. And reposted another. Not really knowing why. But removed a swim suit. Or showed less of it. But it’s dumb. Now they’re asking for comments like they’re satan. I think that might be the newest you better up your comments or off with your head. There’s no way you can have this many followers but so few comments!!! And I mean everyone I’ve watched is stuffing that down your throat. It’s yadda yadda on the like follow. BUT YOU BETTER EFFIN COMMENT. 💀

YouTubes algorithm has fucked over a lot of creators, and that being going on since 2019. Don't see them changing it anytime soon. Just got to get your work out there and put it on other websites.

2023-08-15 19:41:35 +0000 UTCNever had an issue with finding Dan's stuff but there is an issue with YouTube, if you fail to engage with one video someone has uploaded, they sometimes stop promoting it on the subscription page. So if it's a case of not finding it in the subscriptions after a new upload I get it, but if that is the case why can't people automatically search? Why can't they look manually instead of complain.

Afterwards, I got a video of me saying to him "Im your biggest fan, Carlos Mencia!" That video got over a million views, and at the time Google AdSense reached out to me begging me to monetize it. I think I made like $230 off that one video before I had to shut the channel down because I stupidly used my full name, which led to right wingers threatening to kill me and posting my address over my political takes. I reposted the video years later, added tags this time (the original had nothing of the sort) and after 6 years it only has 670 views. https://youtu.be/gvFImy8c92g So I have zero idea how you can build a channel these days without paying money to advertise your channel.

2023-08-15 17:41:35 +0000 UTCSame here, I've never had an issue searching for Dan's content nor have I had any issues with not being notified of uploads. I have the notification bell on for the main channel and Film It and I always get notified on my account and devices for every upload.

And I use VPNs and constantly clear cookies and cache so there is no residual memory in my browsers to influence what I see when I search. All these people who cant find your page are maybe gas lighting. I just have never had an issue finding you stuff.

I barely get any alerts of channels I’m subscribed too , The only way I know you have a new video is from your Patreon , YouTube is off

More frequently lately I've been noticing I'm not only getting recommended videos that aren't at all relevant to my viewing habits, but a lot of them are low or no view videos from extremely small channels. Like personal videos, or one time I was recommended a pastor's sermon from some church (I have never once watched any sort of religious video recently). Normally I wouldn't mind it since it's interesting getting such a hidden video, but the frequency of these videos showing up is getting annoying. The subscriber dips are really bizarre, normally I'd chalk it up to youtube purging bots and fake accounts, but that amount of dips seems excessive. I know Google has been updating their inactive account policy. I'm not sure if it's gone into effect and would be affecting people's subscriber counts by also removing inactive youtube accounts.

2023-08-15 12:40:46 +0000 UTCThe algorithm is weird, man. The things that get recommended to me are truly bizarre and you're totally right about YouTube stifling creators. There's a channel I follow where he the creator said he has to label his videos as made for kids (it's about video games) but then that disables the ability for subscribers to get alerts on new videos. Huh? Another channel (based on cooking) can't show raw beef cooking in a pan because they get demonitized since that apparently goes against the code of conduct. I love YouTube but I don't like what it's becoming and has been becoming for a while.
