I feel like this is 100% true. But I would be mindful about some of your phrasing around being loyal to who the person is now. Because as people we are always changing. What might feel like forever in the moment might actually just be someone's temporary hardship. For example she might go a year where she is unkind and manipulative. But in the context of marriage that is something that can be worked through, and many couples have and have gone on to be married until they die. Ask any 82-year-old couple with 56 years of marriage, how many stretches of their relationship were full of turmoil and wrongdoing. When you write it the way you did that makes relationships very contextual, transactional, and leave a feeling in the back of your mind that you can always escape. If that is the mindset then the relationship will inevitably fail because there's always an out when things get hard. Practically speaking, for us as men, it is useful to think in these terms that you have provided given that we can't really count on how she will act or what she will choose to do.
