Hi patronfolk!

After giving the album a little time to breathe, I've decided it's time to release the two tracks I recorded that ultimately didn't make it onto the album. Enjoy!

Paper to Pen was actually never intended to go on the album and has nothing to do with the narrative. I wrote and recorded it early on in the process for two reasons: firstly, to try and find the sonic space and instrumentation that the album would have, and secondly as a means to reconcile my feelings with not being able to find that 'it' factor the album needed to be unique. The 'you' I'm singing to is the music itself.
At the time I'd been writing lots of ideas but I wasn't getting closer to having the overall musical picture of the album. I decided to spend time fully recording Paper to Pen just to get *something* done and give my brain a break from starting over again and again; to finish a track for once instead of beginning another new one.
