Holy hell this sword is finicky as hell. Aso that little plate with the two ears coming out either side of it? The one on the table above the handle? So I wanted to join those to the blade today, I had prepared them all of yesterday, mostly driving myself crazy lining up that V shaped Notch at the top with the long bar that gets mounted to the blade itself, taking miniscule shavings off both so they fit together snugly, and then bending the plate slightly so it sat flat on the plate below it (That plate had a lot of welding/grinding on its surface, so the surface of it is no longer perfectly flat). BUT THEN I realized that it would be better, instead of attaching them, to attach the bars first, cause I could sneak an extra weld into the space on the lower plate where that V notch is hidden, so instead of welding the piece with wings on I spent all day preparing the bars, which was mostly very carefully drilling holes in them that lined up with each other (one either side of the blade) followed by carefully drilling perfectly matching holes in the Hardox, that's done now, but I feel like I didn't get anything done today cause I was hoping to weld something to something. I spent most of today squinting at a vernier calipers. Anyway, the poll question is:
