i forgot to post this after my internet went back online, but here are some errors i found -- these sentences are my suggestions for what needs changing "As for the bathhouse, it was public property, not under the direct jurisdiction of anyone in particular. No angry owner had shown up, quite simply because no real owner existed." (added an 'of' between 'jurisdiction anyone') --- "He knew that the Watch had struck first, and that Velika had only been defending herself" (changed 'the' to 'that' before Velika) -- "Joln was cut off as Bartum raised a hand. “I will be fine,” he said, then turned back to Rain. “Do you mean me or the Watch any harm?”" (added 'was' between 'Joln cut') -- "Reason reached into the jar and pulled out a handful of powder, then sprinkled it on Cloud’s wound after pulling away the bandage." (removen 'from' in 'pulling away from the bandage') -- "It had spent the entire time in which Rain had been eating his meal by bothering the few last patrons of the inn who hadn’t been driven away by his oversoul. Commands like ‘stop,’ ‘get down from the ceiling,’ and ‘don’t engulf the waitress’ had been ignored. Luckily, the waitress in question had thought Dozer was adorable, rather than a nuisance. Reactions to the slime from the general public were mixed." i think this might contradict when Rain stopped Dozer when he first got out of the ruin

Not sure if somebody already noticed this before but when they destroyed the core of the dark lair, Rain tried to channel his mana into the core and it didnt work. Ameliah told him, he needs dark mana to refill the core. So basically there are 2 pieces of information in that sentence. 1) He should be able to get a skill to change his mana-type 2) Cores can be refilled. If Rain gains access to the dungeon in Fel Sadanis and can refill it every day, he can awaken everybody in the city. Or at least a lot of people if the blue respawns every day. Maybe even a few times a day?

So, if the level 50 class upgrade works in a similar way to the 25 one. Rain will want to have 10 skills in each tree. Plus he has tier 4 and 5 unlockable at or before level 28 and 45. So more skills needed, below are some ideas for them. I like my idea for how to give Rain flight.

It could very well be the exp he could have gained but didn't because his exp until level and level cap prevented him when he was doing a bunch of essense meditation.

On a different topic, I get the feeling that Rain is in an excellent position to figure out what the heck it is that's happened to his soul. After all, there are a number of extraneous connections to his soul: Dozer and his bound gear are relatively common effects, but the Majistraal shield and its attendant window are excruciatingly rare. I suspect that Rain's going to start by trying to answer the question of what the heck it is that he's leaking. If his status window can be trusted, he's not leaking mana or XP, and if his level cap hasn't dropped then he's probably not leaking essence, so that leaves... something else. If he can figure that out, then we're looking at some serious build development right there.

I have no idea what sort of effects Myth and Reason can create with the use of a Crystal Slime, but I suspect that Mlem has found his new profit item. I can just hear him expounding on socioeconomics now: "No no no, you must not do this! Eliminating the city's Slimes with Crystal Slimes would be very bad for the city's economy! Consider: should a man be destitute and unable to find work, why, he may enter the sewers and collect the Tel of slimes with which to purchase his daily bread. The novice Adventurer may supply his needs with such Tel as well. And of course, the average Tel has so very many uses, and were the Crystal Slimes to slay their brethren too swiftly, it would lead to a drop in Tel availability! No, this is inadvisable. "On the other hand, there are so many uses for a Crystal Slime in this time of peril! After all, how many things are there in this city that are shutting down for lack of clean, drinkable water? How many sheets go unwashed, how many dishes go unscrubbed, how many floors go unmopped? There is a tremendous need for waterless cleaning solutions, and we now have the means to provide them! Oh, what a profit there is to be made!" (And yes, I know that people can harvest Tel from Crystal Slimes way more easily, but that just means it would be very easy for some unscrupulous character to take control of the sewers and seize a lock on harvesting the Crystal Slimes.)

I actually fell asleep before reading the chapter this time. Excellent chapter this time. You get some progress in the city, some info about his soul problem, a reason he couldn't bond with the accolades which diminished the sting of returning them (Hopefully he can keep some of them and the money because he needs it to pay the work crew), people behaving rationally in a crisis, and tease the watch skill reading. I hope he learns reading to help him find his inner place and begin the soul manipulation necessary to heal himself and unlock more of the system. Glad to see the return of the merchant and that the good doggo will live. I honestly want the dog to go with rain because the rain cloud puns would be hilarious. Imagine a fully grown massive Cloud jumping on Rain and licking his face only for Dozer to glom on and try to clean up the drool as Reason looks on and says "With every Cloud a little Rain must fall".

I don't remember the chapter but it was pretty far back. Before he met Velka for the first time. He went into the mine that had a dungeon appear in it with Amelia, Carten, Val, Jamus, and blacksmith deer guy (can't remember his name I'm sorry)

Chapter was good, extra large size very much appreciated. Only thing I would say is that the Cloud gathering so many known characters was a bit overly convenient as mentioned by someone else above. If you feel the need to change it, it would be less stretched for Rain to pass Mlem and Ava on way to Myth and Reason, asking them for a scroll. Other thoughts, So the turbulent soul problem predates the cracked paling. As he got, and then could not use the accolades before the over XP thing. So the turbulent issue is probably caused by his over training too much at once? cause of headaches maybe? Mlem, Myth and Reason seem like a likely lot to give him some advice on reaching his "inner self". Looks like plague rats or some other monster are now spawning in the city. Realm shift moving ahead, as if he didn't have enough to deal with already. But, maybe it opens up possibility of a high rank blue spawning? Work crew can be put to work digging up the barrier stone. Competent and trustworthy helpers count as a superpower too. Thoe Rain really needs to get some taxes running so he can stop paying for all this out of pocket. Guess that comes after talking to Velika. Good chapter, looking forward to next

Would be interesting to know what it looks like to the people in the Watch when someone awakens, increases their level and level cap. Also what was the chapter that rain gains his accolade?

Somehow it feels like Dozer will be the solution to Oversoul. His body seems like some kind of physical soul. I mean his soul is fractured and he needs time to learn how to control it, so maybe observing Dozer and how he controls his body might come in handy.

People usually don't waste experience on unnecessary skill trees. Just reread the part with the first Lair. Carten and Jamus insisted on killing monsters themselves. At one point Jamus even said he gained a level. Getting experience is really slow with low Regen-Stats. So I doubt people usually unlock unnecessary trees. Only the adventurers that actually get old and strong enough (like Lavarro) unlock those skills and of those few people some might find a way to "trick" the system.

I must say I’m really glad that Rain recklessly messing around with his soul results in injury rather than a “break the level cap” cheat like boost to his power. I mean so far he hasn’t done anything revolutionary in training his soul, just been quick and careless about it. Always pushing himself too far before spending the minimum time possible recovering. I’m not against him discovering interesting and potentially really powerful Information/interactions. But it needs to be through enough time and effort that it’s reasonable that it’s not wildly known. It cannot be by obvious stuff like unlocking the entire skill tree. Or earning a lot of exp.

Rain/Velika can offer unawakened to Awaken in the Dungeon under the condition that they all spend their skillpoints on the 3 Seasonal Auras and picking up the fourth 'hidden' one that provides food, the same build as the "Slave Beacons"; it looks like they'll all be in it for the long haul

Well Aura Focus should help with sensing his own soul with the whole removing all external senses bit. He might even be able to find out what Essence Meditation is doing with it. Also Rain tried his best to save the city but it was all for naught. Mlem has now met Myth and Reason.

I liked the watch guy too... advisor for when rain takes over? Also did we already know Rill was dead or is this the first mention... he was the best bet for getting the nobles in line and I dont see his son doing a good job.
