The future of the channel
Added 2021-05-23 01:30:47 +0000 UTCAs most of you know, prior to the pandemic, we were planning on going on the road and filming on location videos that were much longer in length, as well as helping people set up community networks, however, the pandemic stopped those plans in their tracks. As the world starts to get back to normal, we'll be restarting those plans. We've already done lots of field testing and got the right equipment (thanks to you).
We haven't just been sitting around for the last year either. We've been quietly putting together something else in the downtime. You've probably noticed that most times I film in the dead of night and that the sound is less than ideal. That's because the shop really is a working shop. During the day there are tractor noises, banging sounds, dogs, etc making it impossible to film at most times. The inside of my house is occupied by children who aren't always aware of a filming schedule.
Over the next two weeks, we'll be putting the finishing touches on what amounts to a production facility. When finished, it will have a (theoretically) soundproof shop, a hard-wired livestream set so the rural internet shouldn't be as much of a problem, we'll be able to restart the video interviews, and will even be able to shoot in-person interviews. A second area will be available for the production of the upside-down patch skits.
All of this will allow there to be more consistent production of higher quality videos and allow the second channel to really begin beyond the tests. It also allows production at any time of day, allowing easier coverage of breaking news. It will give me more time to respond to messages here and hang out on discord.
A couple of years ago, this channel started on a lark. Because of you, it has turned into a force for good that can impact the real world. The community you all grew has inspired me to increase my efforts. I appreciate your support and can't wait to see how this continues to grow and impact the world in positive ways.
I'd love to hear any ideas you have for the future.

Sounds good.
2022-11-02 12:30:04 +0000 UTCBeau I’ve watched you from afar and wrapt to be part of your global community! You’re the best man, witty and passionate! I love what you do.
2022-04-22 05:58:30 +0000 UTCThe Baby Beau's. Or perhaps, The Band of Beau's. Ah: The Ballad of the Beau's!
2021-12-21 17:59:42 +0000 UTCWe're here for you as much as you're here for us.
2021-12-21 17:36:22 +0000 UTCBeau, I suggest you appoint correspondents out and about who can inject local flavor -- your community's voice -- without abandoning the essential perspective and mission that you set out to create when you experienced your calling.
2021-12-21 17:35:17 +0000 UTCGood on you Joseph, audio support is huge
2021-07-28 19:43:24 +0000 UTCI had reached out a while back to offer technical Services. I own a small A/V business in the Daytona Beach Area but I have a large (and smaller) PA systems and mics etc... I'd love an opportunity to work for you and/or contribute in some way. I watch the videos and have been a bit silent on discord as I have not seen too much in my area. I have access and indemnification for all the local theaters and work with a 501C3 (Open Source) for Community Cultural Events. I also have streaming gear for a live event or if you simply wish to record with multi-cam set-up... Anyway, I am just updating my offer to you to assist in some way. I am also at an existential cross-road in my life and trying to avoid a slide in into nihilism or becoming a complete cynic... Your videos and work go a long way to keeping that at bay, please let me know if I may do something. Thank You
2021-07-01 00:08:18 +0000 UTCI have been a patron for about two months and don’t see the benefits to this point. What do I need to do or where must I go to take advantage of my patronage to your platform. I can see your videos on YouTube or Facebook but I see no additional access for the patronage at this moment.
2021-06-24 19:06:17 +0000 UTCI agree with AJJ. I've been posting nearly every day on Facebook with one shooting death after another. And I saw that TX is passing a law to drop requirements on public weapons carry. We have to approach this problem from both ends. Gun violence and death is just as epidemic as Covid.
2021-06-22 16:20:10 +0000 UTCGunna miss the shop feel tho!
2021-06-11 17:48:35 +0000 UTCHi, Beau – Among all the outreach you are planning, can you consider devoting some effort to including a top-down approach as well as the community efforts? I think the community efforts are very worthwhile but there needs to be a push and more awareness of alternate paths at the top as well. For example, I don’t see your analysis of possibilities for gun control legislation anywhere but your channel. And people are relentlessly killed by guns every day. Could you get some volunteers who would be willing to approach more national outlets and progressive politicians with your ideas? You shouldn’t hide your light under a bushel basket.

2021-06-08 15:47:08 +0000 UTCI love looking at the stuff on your shelves behind you in the shed. Maybe you could project that image on a green screen so that those of us who like your casual "I just came in here looking for a tool but stopped to talk with the neighbors" will feel secure knowing you aren't going to suddenly polish everything up. We love you as a normal one-of-us kind of guy. Don't start putting on airs or getting too big fer yer britches. 🐈
