Mark Explains Soilwork to Broden and Zach

Just when you thought Mark would never get his opportunity for revenge...

Esteemed patrons of The Aunty Donna Club, this month we bring to you, the final instalment in the lecture/quiz trilogy:

"Mark Explains Soilwork to Broden and Zach".

Soilwork are a Swedish melodic death metal band. Mark loves them. Broden and Zach are ever so slightly less enthusiastic. Let the chaos ensue...

And remember, this series isn't about learning and fun. It's about making your friends engage with a topic they don't enjoy, for your own amusement. We can't stress that enough.

Click here to watch the two-part series.

Enjoy legends.

Mark Explains Soilwork to Broden and Zach

Comments

I just want the donna boys to know, that I could do one of these about them, and I just hope one day they take mind altering drugs and hyper focus on how ppl are nerds about them, just like morn is a regular at quarks.

Jayne Thorsen

I think I was the only person screaming at my screen , THATS FUCKING SCAR SYMMETRY NOT SOIL WORK ?!?!

Frodo Khunt

New single !!!!!! New video of Mark explaining soon????

Gavin

Having only glanced at the title, I’m like 1% disappointed this wasn’t about soil mechanics. I feel Mark really would have done the topic justice compared to my uni professors.

NoArchieNoParty

Resubscribed as soon as I saw the notification about this one. 🤘

Leonard Burton

I don't know if you meant it or if it's a typo not but "children of bosom" made me snort.

Jake

This series is amazing. Please keep adding to the board with each new lecture. Maybe add some string to add to the chaos.

Jake

I would love to see a Devin one, would be fucking awesome. Would need more than a couple of hours though!

Laura Phoenix-Jones

I loved watching this, I love Mark’s passion and Zach nailed it at the end. Also I like Soilwork so that was just the icing on the cake. Would love to see more of you all talking about your passions!

Laura Phoenix-Jones

what was part one??

Gomez

This was pure gold content and I will up my Patreon for my special interest topic explaining, I love Mark too much

Lola_Ibanez

One of the best days of my life was finding out how much Mark loves metal. Makes my heart happy

Johnny Ciardullo

This was arguably the best of these so far (should definitely continue with the concept). Mark's gradual exasperation and Zach's reaction to the song titles and multiple returns to form based on the specific style of the first few seconds of a track were highlights.

Thom Kitimat

I like the way you think

James Jeffery

Mark would just make Zach and Broden listen to DevLab or The Hummer on repeat with their eyes closed and occasionally throw things at them

Freya

NGL I've never heard of these guys but I just threw Chainheart Machine on at the gym and this shit is life

Brad Moleski

All these years somehow I missed them. THANK YOU MARK!!!! Whirl of pain is disgusting 🤮 🤘

Benjamin Trapanese

Can zach do another star trek lecture?

Rebecca Robson

I just want an entire video of Mark lip syncing to metal.

Erik Kang

Me too! Not something I would have come across otherwise as I find metal can be hard to find your way into, cheers Mark!

Chris W

Watching Mark just vibing and being fully into the music whenever he played a song gave me good feelings in my tummy. Seeing anyone just completely enjoying music, regardless of whether it's something I'm into or not, always makes me happy Also this 100% has made me want to see Mark do this again but for Devin Townsend. Dev's discography and range is so completely bananas that I think that it would make that final round even more cooked and hilarious. Just play something from SYL, something from Casualities of Cool, one from like Addicted or Epicloud, then finish off with "Why?" from Empath - yep those are all the same dude

James Jeffery

This video very sincerely got me into Soilwork. Thank you, Mark!

Michael Mead

mark do a fashion thing your style is good and i wnat to know where you get your clothes

cumdogmillionaire

I fear this video might be the death of Soilwork

Michael Jones

Just tossed my Slipknot records in the trash. Soilwork forever. I bet their most cult/commercial/heavy/groovy album has yet to come.

Tornado Trocano

Guys this really ruled

James

Brilliant. Mark, I don’t mean to be a namedropping dickhole but I can totally introduce you to Devin next time he’s in town, I know him through work.

I Heart Guitar

These "explains" videos are truly the best content to consume when I want to consume content

Kael Driscoll

Yay awesome! Would’ve been cool to hear children of bosom mentioned in here. Great presentation and those are some really good students they did their best

berean auden

Spectacular, boys! I love these. TY for the treat!

Mola

Shout out to Zack and Borden's tiny drinks, Cardigans and sweaters on point and I may give Soilwork a listen. Well done

Matt

Next up "Tom Explains..."

Peesh

wow Zach knows so much about Soilwork, didn't know he was such a big fan!

Rob Frost

This seals it, I want to marry Mark

Ash

Wild! I actually worked with Peter Wichers at Fender when i was doing an internship years ago. Incredibly humble, nice dude. Not being into metal I had absolutely no idea how big Soilwork was when he told me that he used to be in a "swedish death metal" band.

Hayden Riddiford

Woah I legit enjoy Night Flight Orchestra and had no idea about the origins of its member. Will there be a follow up on the reconstruction of Marks Cats toy?

Kyle Rubdie

Thanks Mark I can now sound like i know something around my pretentious black mental fans

Kyle Hall

It’s nice to see you boys getting to talk on things you’re passionate about. Reminds me of some of the old “non-comedy” Patreon poddies y’all did. Great stuff. :)

Buggy

Does Broden know who Tunng are, or was he saying "You like tongue" 👅

Shniffs

This could have been about Arch Enemy. Disappointed in you, Mark.

Chad G. Pilcher

I’m not saying we, as a community, should find a way to get an ultra rare “In Dreams We Fall Into The Eternal Lake” cassette for Mark. But I’m also not NOT saying that 🤷‍♀️

Mike

I think another round for all the boys with infinite time and also maybe Sam and Tom.

Phill Davies

I thought Broden already knew Soilwork, since he is the leadsinger of the band

Laura Giorgi

'Soilwork' also happens to describe much of Mark's comedic style in podcast episodes 1-100

Jude Loveless

Quite earnestly I've never really been into metal, but I really like Soilwork's sound having watched this!

Ted

Fuck yeah Mark. Soilwork rules

Ziltoidian Warlord

If you guys did a "Zach Explains..." episode of Disney Parks, I'd struggle through the entire discography of Soil Work.

Danger Ferret

I didn't stop laughing the entire time

Harry Davies

I haven't watched yet but damn didn't know Mark fucked with landscaping like that

Max Hardwick

If you're ever looking for another borderline unwatchable format to follow in the footsteps of "The Most Upsetting Guessing Game", there's definitely something in this. I want to see more local comedians giving angry lectures on incredibly niche topics.

Nicholas Ferrazza

great music great shirt great content

hulloelle

As a Star Trek fan with no interest in metal, I can't wait to get the full experience of being a victim of one of these videos

Callum

This is my favourite series :)

hokeypokey

I had no idea Mark loved soilwork, this is incredible.

Scruble

hahahahaha! That's a fair critisism

Aunty Donna

Oh boy I hope I get to hear Mark stumble over funny Swedish words and names for a good hour and a half. Thank you boys. Also Mark's taste in music is exceptional.

wag0napples

An hour long lecture on a swedish death metal band I’ve never heard of? Fuck yeah man I’m in

Ronnie

Yes markypoo

Jack Crump-leys

look this looks great and all team but I’m really upset this isn’t mark explains Mediterranean Wholesalers, 482 Sydney Road, Brunswick
