What A Cartoon! - A Pup Named Scooby-Doo "Now Museum, Now You Don't"

The Halloween season is upon us once again, and this time around, we've stumbled into a big pile of doo—Scooby-Doo, that is! Five years after we first explored the Doo-niverse, we're back to cover the smart, self-aware late '80s reboot that fully exploited—and poked fun at—the accumulated tropes from 20 years of those meddling, mystery-solving kids and their somewhat helpful dog. So sit back, ignore any Red Herrings, and listen in as we explore this vital piece of the TV animation renaissance puzzle!

I love monkey screams as background noise. Reminds me of Invader Zim

Been following along with the podcast friends have been doing for a few years called Wheel of Scoob to go through all 45+ Scooby Doo movies/TV specials. Some of them are good (Trick or Treat Scooby Doo mentioned in the podcast is pretty high tier). Most are pretty bad (the Arabian Nights movie and the Velma & Daphne live action TV movie are egregiously bad). Its been fun watching along with it overall.

The Pup designs were re-used again twice! Once in an episode of “what’s new Scooby-Doo?!” For a flashback to their childhoods to show why Velma is afraid of clowns and a direct to dvd movie “Scooby-Doo! Adventures: The Mystery Map” which the designs were repurposed into Puppets . The movie was a Pilot for more “Pup” but in puppet form but the movie wasn’t a hit so it was pushed aside

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo is a DELIGHT. Best DTV entry since Zombie Island, Witch’s Ghost & Alien Invaders. Velma’s crush is Coco Diablo who is the costume designer behind all their canonical villains. Really cute and clever and the animation style is a bit more playful than these tend to be.
