Shazam test chapter

A.N: Not writing a new story. Just wanted to post this. I was working on my latest chapter, but I have a family member who just came out of hospital so I have to visit them. Apparently, I'm not allowed to just send a text and be done with it. So human interaction it is then. As a short apology for the delay, I quickly scrambled up this test chapter for you guys. I think Shazam is an underrated superhero and thought this could be fun.

Plot: A regular kid was minding his own business, when suddenly he finds himself in the DC world with the powers of Shazam. Pairing to be voted on. 1st scene will be in 1st POV (I'm experimenting) while the rest of the chapter will be in third person. (For this test chapter I'm going to call the MC 'Billy/Bill' for simplicty sakes)

Chapter 1 -

"Oh, this is going to go real, real bad or real good. No inbetweens," I sighed as I stood atop this rooftop.

It was only a couple of days ago that I was in my room, having started working out a while ago; my abs were even starting to show through. I had ended my short workout before I went to sleep. Everything from there was routine. I took a piss, cleaned my teeth, etc. All the way till I got in bed and went asleep, only when I woke up, I wasn't in my world anymore.

It didn't take me long to realise I wasn't in my world, firstly because my world didn't have green lanterns and kryptonians flying about on the news, secondly because I got very odd looks when I said that they weren't real. I can barely recall how it happened, but somehow, someway, I ended up on the subway and ended up being transported once again without my knowledge. It was then that I met the wizard, 'Shazam', he was the one who gave me the powers of Shazam AKA Captain Marvel.

Yeah, I had somehow ended up becoming a replacement for Billy Batson, I mean sure, we both had the same first names and we both looked more or less the same, but still, how the hell did that happen?! Much like with Billy Batson, I only had to say the name 'Shazam' and then I'd be transformed into what was basically a magical version of Superman, just swap out the heat vision for electricity. Speaking of Superman, it hadn't taken me long to come up with my current plan, which was why I was now on top of the Daily Planet building, the building where -if my knowledge was right - Clark Kent would work, AKA Superman, one of the greatest heroes of all time.

"Okay," I took in a deep breath. "Superman," I called. "You should be able to hear me with your superhearing. I am on top of the building where you work. If you don't get here soon then I will sell your identity to the highest bidder along with a stolen pair of Lois Lane's panties." A few moments later, a whooshing sound came from behind me, I turned around and was faced with Superman himself, the Man of Steel. Good-looking, tall, muscular and everything else you'd expect from him. I quickly raised my hands in surrender. "I don't have her panties!" I blurted out, wanting to make that particular point very clear.

"You're a kid," Superman noted with a frown, looking at me like he wasn't sure what to think.. "What are you doing here?"

"I need your help, Clark," I revealed, his frown got deeper.

"How do you know my name?" He asked.

"I read, but look, I really need your help." I continued. "I...this isn't my world, okay? I come from a world where you and Batman and the justice league are all fictional characters. But now, I came into this world and I got powers."

"Powers?" Superman repeated, I could see his brain digesting the other infortmation I had revealed to him. Honestly, how chaotic was his life if he was so casual about this.

"Yeah, watch this. Shazam!" A lightning bolt shot down from the sky and enveloped me completley, a moment later I was transformed! Standing an inch or two taller than Superman, I looked like I might have had better protein shakes than he does as I was a little wider on the shoulders as well. Golden boots and wrist braces, along with a white cape and a giant lightning embelem on the chest of my full-body, red suit made me fit right at home, standing next to the Krptonian.

"Whoa," Superman blinked.

"Damn right, Kryptonian Keanu," I nodded. "Whoa."

Chapter 2 -

"Recognised, Shazam." The automated voice called as Billy stepped out of the portal, he couldn't help but smile at the name. He was thankful that he had the hindsight to have the wizard give him the ability to say 'shazam' without always triggering the transformation. Truthfully, he preferred Shazam when compared to 'Captain Marvel', who, like him, had been a kid when he wasn't transformed. What was he the captain of?

Stepping into the Mount Justice Cave, Billy looked around and saw a small group of people already here. This was the team he had been told about, there was Superboy, Robin, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Artemis and their two newest additions, Zatanna and Supergirl. Standing alongside them was Batman who noticed him before any of the others.

"Team, meet your newest member." Batman gestured to Billy, everyone turned to look at him.

"Hi," Billy said with dryly with a small wave of his hand. "Name's Billy,"

"New guy, huh?" Wally West AKA KidFlash spoke up first. "What can you do?"

"Not much," Billy shrugged. Unsatisfied by his answer, KidFlash looked to Batman.

"The League has determined that Billy's current abilities put him at the same threat level as Superman," Batman revealed, shocking the team. "Many considered him joining the league, but it's been decided that he would first have some experience wih your team, given his age. Spend some time to get to know each other." Batman ordered before turningand leaving.

"Strong as Superman, huh?" Connor Kent AKA Superboy frowned as he stared at Billy with crossed arms.

"Estimated to be similar levels of strength," Billy shrugged. "We never really tested it out."

"Come on," Supergirl said encouragingly as she flew up and landed next to him. "You got to tell us something,"

"Okay," Billy shrugged once more. "I have superhuman strength, speed, durability, agaility, flight and lightning powers."

"Nice," Robin smiled. "Can never have too much firepower."

"You're magical-based, right?" Zatanna asked knowingly as she stepped up next to him.

"More or less," Billy confirmed.

"Oh great, another believer," Kid-Flash sighed.

"Wally doesn't like magic," Artemis explained with a grin.

"Magic is just science we don't understand," Kid-Flash said stubbornly.

"Or is science just magic that we can explain?" Billy countered.

"No, and I hate you now."
