Blue Beetle test chapter.

Plot: He knew that he was never the smartest or the strongest person in the world. As such, he never expected to be anything important in life. But when he finds himself suddenly waking up in a new world with the a murderous scarab fused to his spine, he relises his life will never be the sane. Pairing will be voted on. (For this test chapter the MC will be called 'Harry' just because that's literally the name of the MC in the majority of my stories)

Scene 1 -

"This cannot be happening," Harry muttered to himself.

Unless he was mistaken, he had been in his room five minutes ago.

Four minutes ago he had woken up on a random concrte floor that was not in England.

Three minutes ago he had ended up suffering the worst pain of his life when something fused to his spine. He had managed to find some broken glass and use its reflection to see just what had attatched itself to him. Between his eyes and the voice that suddenly started talking in his head, it didn't take him long to realise that he had somehow acquired the blue beetle armour.

"How the fuck did this happen?!" He couldn't help but wonder.

Host compatibility confirmed.

"Shit!" Harry blurted out, he had hoped sincerely that the voice he had just heard HADN'T come from within his head. But looking around, he couldn't see anyone else here with a functional mouth. He was about to respond to this new voice in his head when suddenly he started transforming. A black bodysuit appeared over him, followed with blue mentallic plates. In a manner of seconds, he no longer looked like a black-haired, brown-eyes guy, instead he looked like Blue Beetle, ripped right out of the comics. "I'm...oh God! I'm Blue Beetle!" He gasped, his vision was now flooded with a HUD system made up of a language he had never seen before that he understood...for soe reason.

Beginning systems check.

"Systems check?" Harry repeated dumbly.

Testing flight capabilities.

"I beg your pardon? It sounded like you just said - oh SHIT!" Harry yelped as he suddenly shot off the ground. Blue bursts of energy shot out from his back, pushing him faster and higher than he had ever gone in his life. He looked down and regretted it instantly, the concrete street he had been on had already fallen out of view, it didn't take him long before he realised that the city he was in was also getting farther away. He yelled at the scarab to stop, but it ignored him.

"I am not qualified for this!" He insisted loudly. He ripped through the Earth's atmosphere and entered space.

Flight check complete. Adjusting for host protection.

But Harry was barely paying attention to what it was saying. He was too busy realising where he was.

Space.

Actual space.

He looked down at Earth. He had always been told that the planet was beautiful. He had never really thought about it, but now...he realised that all the pictures he had ever seen of it on the internet did not do it justice.

"This is impossible," He whispered to himself.

Life Support Active, the scarab continued. Host Vitals stable.

Harry stared down at Earth, it looked so beautiful in the black void of space, as did the stars that twinkled in the dark night. It hit him hard, realising that he was getting a view that most people could never ever hope to see. A chance to see something that people never ever dreamed of seeing. Something he hadn't earned the right to see.

"I'm average," He said shakily. "I'm not a hero. I'm not a soldier. I'm barely competent, most days."

Irrelevant, you are compatible. Before Harry could respond to that, the scarab decided it was time for its next test. Testing re-entry systems.

"I'm sorry, but did you just say-Whoa!" Harry screamed as he dropped back down to Earth.

Scene 2 -

"Unbelievable," Harry whispered to himself.

It hadn't taken him long to realise that he was in the DC world. Between all the posters, news reports on TV and newspapers, it became pretty obvious, pretty quickly. Meaning, he had to do something. It was a basic law of superhero media: shit happens sooner or later. And right now, he had one of the most dangerous and advanced war-machines in the universe attatched to his spine, meaning sooner or later, someone was going to notice. And if someone had to notice, he'd rather it be someone who wouldn't try to kill him. It could be this place's villain of the weak, or worse still, the Reach could come after hi,m or possibly he might end up being noticed by a Green Lantern. He'd have a chance of explaining himself if it was Jon or Hal, but if Guy Gardner spotted him, then they'd likely end up fighting before anything else.

So, after taking a moment to confirm that he hadn't wound up in the injustice universe, he took the time to locate the Daily Planet. It wouldn't have taken him long to get there if he had just flown there, but he wanted to keep under the radar as much as possible, which meant sneaking onto subways, walking and taking the occasional cab. Once he got there, he managed to make his way onto the rooftop. Admittedly, his first choice would have been Batman, but knowing what he knew, it would take a long time for Batman to trust him remotely, providing the guy doesn't just try to string him upside down. Meaning, this was his best option.

"I hope this works," He muttered before remembering that he needed to make something clear to his new 'companion'. "Listen, in a second we're about to meet someone very, very, very strong and dangerous."

Engaging defensive measures.

"No!" Harry said firmly, slapping down on his arm when he felt an arm canon start to form. "We can't beat him, even if we could, it would take a long time and a lot of effort, and then the rest of his team - all of whom are big threats - would come after us. I'm trying to make an ally here. One that will protect us, it'll be harder to do that if you start shooting him. So, for the next five minutes or so, don't do anything until I tell you. Got it?" There was a big pause, for a moment Harry briefly considered that the bug was giving him the silent treatment.

Understood.

"Thank you," Harry sighed. "Superman, Clark Kent, I know you can hear me. I need you up here pronto, or I will tell Martha Kent that you're spending your nights doing drugs." He stated before doing a mental countdown, he had gotten to five when suddenly Superman - THE Superman - descended down from the skies.

"You know, there are better ways to get my attention." He said, arms crossed and sending Harry a look that made the younger man instantly want to apologise.

"Probably, but this was the quickest," Harry said apologetically. "Look, I hate to bother you, really. But I need your help."

"With what?"

"With this," Harry clenched his fist, and a large, blue mace replaced his hand. He did the same with the other hand, replacing it with a hammer.

"That's new," Superman blinked.

"That's the tip of the iceberg, mate."

Scene 3 -

"Approaching drop-off point," Miss Martian said.

Harry gave her a nod before standing up from his seat. It had been the better part of two years since he had entered this new world. The Justice League (Yes, he had managed to meet the freaking Justice League!) were nice enough to even get him a place to live. From what he had heard, they were even considering letting him join the team in a year or two, if he did well. For now, though, he was to work with this team. They were all basically younger versions of the Justice League; you had Robin, Kid-Flash, Superboy, etc.

Working with the team right now, his job was to help them rescue a couple of illegally created experiments in a Cadmus facility. Cadmus was basically a cliche evil scientist group from what he understood.

"You ready?" Karen asked him. Not only was she a former classmate of his at the school they both went to, but she had also become the hero 'Bumblebee', she wore a yellow and black skintight suit that looked like - you guessed it - a Bumblebee. To be honest, Harry thought it looked really cool, and not just because it showed off her body well enough.

"Never," Harry told her bluntly before his armour covered him fully. "But close enough."

"Don't worry, I'll have your back," She said with a grin, pulling her mask up and over her head.

"I already got something watching my back, you mind watching my front instead?" He smiled at her.

"If you two are done flirting, I'm about to drop you now," Miss Martian said teasingly.

"We weren't flirting," Harry/Blue Beetle rolled his eyes.

"Maybe later," Bumblebee smirked just before the floor of Miss Martian's bio-ship opened up and the two dropped out of the ship. A pair of translucent wings popped out of Harry's back while four insect-like wings extended out of Bumblebee's back. "You want to race there?" She offered as they flew down.

"I can fly up to the moon in under a minute, trust me, you don't want that race." He told her as his HUD display flickered through different types of vision, giving him an accurate display of what was inside the facility. "Remind me, was this a stealth mission?"

"Nope,"

"Good," Blue Beetle grinned. "Let's make some noise." He said, pressing his hands together. A moment later, his two hands were replaced with one large cannon. A blue beam shot out of it, smashing the ceiling that they were about to land on. The canon reverted back to his hands in time for him and Bumblebee to land on the floor.

Staring across from them, were several pods with people inside. But what Harry was most focused on was the villain standing in front of them. Planet Master, a man with several abilities, each related to planets.

"You?! Again?!" Planet Master hissed.

"Bee, get the pods. I'll deal with this idiot." He told her.

"Have fun," She told him before shrinking her size down to that of an insect. While the other two distracted each other, she flew to the pods and worked on opening them.

"Remember, Bug, I won our last fight," Planet Master reminded him with a smirk.

Inaccurate, he ran away.

"Perhaps you need a refresher. Speed of Mercury," He rushed forwards at superspeed, only to end up running face-first into an energy shield that he bounced off of. Shaking his head, he glared at Blue Beetle and jumped back into the fight. "Strenght of Jupiter!" He roared, throwing a punch at Beetle. Using a technique that Black Canary had taught him, Blue managed to catch him and throw him other his shoulder and through the w`next room. Planet Master tried to get up when he was hit full-force in the chest with a sonic canon that shot him through another wall."

"Here's the thing, this 'bug' learns from his fights." Blue Beetle told him matter-of-factly.

"You won't defeat me!" Planet Master said stubbornly. "Now, taste the power of URANUS!"

"No!"

I could see that happening, maybe in the future

Is it bad I would totally love for this to be a Harry who grew up reading comics and watching Justice League through the slats in the door to his cupboard. I know and I get you want to do OC's so I'll stop saying it but a blue beetle alternate dimension Harry would be awesome.
