When Whitley warns Weiss that he heard shouting from their father's office, Weiss asks if her father is yelling at their mother in his office. Whitley responded, "no she's already drinking in the garden." Meaning Weiss' mother and father fight alot and her mother spends alot of time drinking.

2021-01-03 21:00:20 +0000 UTCBtw the reason Whitley was acting like he hasn't seen Weiss till now is because he hasn't. She locked herself into her room when she and her dad came back. Only Klein has seen her. Bringing her meals and such. Or her father whenever he summons her.

RWBY tells a TON of story in its music (i really recommend listening) The last lyrics of the opening is “Move Onward Not There Yet” MONTY. As a nod to how driven a person Monty Oum was known to be.
