Hello my peeps. I sincerely hope you are doing well. It has been a minute since C13 AEGIS 2.06 and boy have there been some happenings. So let's get into that.
Since 2.06, the entire cornerstone of my previous work - the tone mapping - has been re-written from scratch. Yes sadly the famed C13 Filmic Mapper is no more. Mostly due to my limited math ability, i decided to pivot into a slightly more procedural approach. The new tone mapping is built on a rudimentary sensitometric function that has then had everything + the sink thrown at it.
Things the new tonemapper does:
active hue shift of bright reds - no longer relying on differential compression pre and post curve fitment
better saturation preservation - peak luma desat can now be controlled as a feature, rather than being an artifact of highlight compression during curve fitment
Good low end control, preventing overly dark lows where undesired.
Reinhard curve for high tone compression and control
Beastly dark lift and top compression capabilities
probably some incidental things, because i'm barely scratching the surface. There's a reason you can go to school for this.
So obviously, everything else then had to fall in line. From glare reconfiguration to world lighting, etc. But when you're doing housekeeping, you may as well fix some other things:
Fixed essentially broken star brightness presets (i keep asking you to lmk if you find issues, why don't you)
Added night compensation for reflections, bringing LCS nights up to snuff
Mostly fixed tunell flashbanging in shuto with LCS, with some clever dynamic VAO tweaks
Took some inspiration from AC EVO for daytime fog, and using it for flavor
probably more, but i'm terrible at keeping records
Additionally, power of the sun under LCS has seen a complete rework, giving extra drama and vibes to most scenes. But due to likely breaking with shitmods, it's off by default. But the video above makes very heavy use of it.
Gamma version of the filter is seeing it's first update since 1.89! Mostly it's a port of the tone mapping, with some fixes and adjustments here and there. Overall, if you love how 1.89 looks, you'll love this as well.
Yes, the next C13 Automotive car project is almost upon us! A special thanks to everyone subbed to C13 Publishing, for believing in these projects and giving that extra bit! Though fear not, the car is slated for a free release.

As always, thank you immensely for your support, you make all of this possible! And "all of this" has some fun announcements in the works, so stay tuned!
Oh, as always, Patron download coming in a sec.
