BLOG: A mistake I've Made and Copyright... Two Very Different Headaches
Added 2023-05-28 10:16:15 +0000 UTCHi, just a short one today to talk about what's bee going on the last couple of days which has distracted me from doing any work at all.
I've been alerted by a patron (thank you so much, by the way!) that someone has been selling my stories on Amazon. They are word-for-word the same stories with just the titles and character names changed. I don't know if anyone of you have dealt with copyright before but it is a tedious and difficult process, at least Amazon makes it that way. They have 12 of my stories up and I have managed to get 5 removed but the other 7 remain. I may need to very temporarily (for a day or so) make some of my exclusive stories free to look at so Amazon will notice the problem and delete the others. I don't know for sure yet.
The mistake I've made is one that was almost inevitable after a while with my system of posting. Each Wednesday and Saturday I post the new update here and then post the previous week's update to all my usual places. This means a lot of copying and pasting of both the new update and the previous one...
Well... I posted the update late last night and clearly wasn't paying full attention as the chapter I posted to all the other sites was the most recent instead of the previous one. By the time I've noticed it's pretty much too late to undo as everyone has seen it. I suppose it just means they'll have to wait an extra week for the next update unlike you lovely people who will havethe next chapter right on time.
I apologise for this error. It is the first time it has happened and I will do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Yes actually! After spending far too long proving I owned my stories Amazon removed them ad the account :)
